Old Chang Kee is really cashing in on the hype surrounding our local flavours. Sadly this mash up of kaya toast meets curry puff fails to deliver, and is one of those dishes that should just have remained as an idea instead.... the puff portion is reminiscent of a curry puff but the flavour of old oil is heavy and doesn’t match well with the sweet kaya. There is no butter element either and the kaya lacks fragrance. I’d stick to my usual kaya toast, thanks. #burpple #burpplesg

I didn’t get to try the chicken rice one but I love laksa so I had to give this a go!! The crust is the same as the normal curry puff and it’s rly flaky and delicious but the filling isn’t as fragrant as I would have wanted, the laksa flavour isn’t v strong!! And there’s egg and chicken and fish cake inside but I would have rly enjoyed if they put some taupok and taugeh and hum too??! Hahaha just a suggestion but still a good rendition and it’s an interesting pie!! #burpple #burpplesg

Mooncake Flavours include: White Lotus, Red Lotus, Matcha Skin Green Pandan and Charcoal Skin Black Sesame. All with salted egg yolk inside.
I love the Green Pandan most and glad that all flavours not overly sweet. Skin abit crumbly but not dry. A reasonably priced mooncakes which you could buy for your family or as a gift to friends.

Tried the Chicken Satay’O for a change from the curry puffs and I quite like the amount of chicken chunks packed in it. The peanuty kind of satay flavour wasn’t as strong but I’m not a huge fan of that so it was fine for me. A pretty decent snack but I still prefer the good old curry puff!


😕 This #NasiLemakCurryPuff sure was #spicy, but sorely lacked the very necessary coconut fragrance and taste that gives this #local #Singaporean favourite its character. I had to try it, but I don't have to eat it again! Still prefer their #original #currypuff. 😌
