The only non-spicy staple curry puff from old chang kee menu. Love the crust fold as always.
Lucky me got this right out of the fryer so it was pipping hot and fresh. The fillings lgitimately tasted like chicken rice and had quite a good portion of chicken cubes!
I like all things cheesy and I finally tried the new item on the menu!
Verdict: it was pretty good! I love the stringy cheese and the all-too-familiar cheese pull, which is a common denominator of all cheesy items in the food industry these days. The chicken pieces were tender too. Worth a try!
I love chili crab and I cannot lie. Eating crab on its own is one thing, but when it is topped with a well mixed sweet and spicy chili crab sauce - it is another glorious matter altogether.
The puff was like the normal OCK buttery crust, except that it was coloured in a vivid red colour... which, in my honest opinion, didnβt look very appealing. But kudos to the OCK team, the chili crab sauce was great! It makes for a savoury and filling snack at an affordable price of ~$2. Well, considering the fact that it was only $2.20 for a piece, you canβt expect overflowing crab meat, but it was still a very decent portion.
Too bad itβs a seasonal item... Worth a try!
Opted for the normal black sauce beehoon ($1.60), and I loved it! I liked that there was a peppery taste to the beehoon! Add on with the usual old Chang Kee fried sticks for a complete meal (lunch meal in fact!) But if you compare this to your hawker centre economic beehoon, that will still be cheaper. But for now, it is a good meal alternative for my weekday lunches!
