I always order this whenever go to dim sum places and they didn’t disappoint me. A generous size of carrot cake that fried pretty well, not so oily. $4.80++

For dim sum, you could go for this one. A cabbage roll that comes with some prawns meat inside. $4.80++

Golden crispy deep fried prawn toast mantou is a prefer item for the starter. The taste wasn’t strong enough and mostly the mantou itself with some fillings on a side. $8.80++

One Canton came across as somewhat close to a Hong Kong Café, but I was a tad confused when they also had things like Teochew Porridge.

Anyway, I was pleased with the richness of the soup in this Shrimp & Pork Dumplings Tomato Soup Noodles. By using rice noodles, the pairing went well with the overall flavours. Did I also mention that their dumplings were quite plump too?

So at S$9.80 for a bowl of noodles, it was not too bad a meal, except that I probably would not slurp down too much of that soup, as compared to a pork broth for instance.

I kinda walked into One Canton, expecting a variant of Canton Paradise.

Instead, what we got was "contemporary Chinese cuisine that infuses distinctly modern aesthetic with traditional Cantonese ingredients" which is essentially a confusing mish-mash of Thai and Chinese cuisine.

I thought the chilli lime fish was too acidic. As for the pork chop, it was served with a huge bone-in and without a knife which made it difficult to eat.

I am not a fan of Canton One but it's decently priced and the food is decent if you don't come in expecting Canton Paradise.

Attractive premise, unfulfilled execution. Although they did the right thing in toasting the bun, it's not bread of good quality. Whatever they spread on it also wasn't sweet enough.
