This pork wasn't just the best thing here, it's one of the greatest pork I've eaten. They use Yongenton pork. Whatever that is, it's my new favourite. It wasn't just the smokiness, it's also very pungent, which is how I like my pig. Fyi the hot plate is hot enough to continue cooking so watch your beef. However I didn't notice a difference between the rare and the done. In fact the beef was ordinary.

Japanese mackerel. Pass. Got flavour, got size. I only wish it's meatier.

The worst. As you can tell, there's barely any egg and there's no effort preparing it together with the chicken like good oyako dons. This was a scam.

Classic Japanese fried chicken - light and clean. There wasn't really tartar though - that blob is potato salad. Portion quite small too.

Breaded chicken topped with grated yam and vegetables in hot pot
The whole dish was very comforting and tasty! I actually finished the whole soup!
Veggies include some carrots, potato, horenzo, onions. I added a Gokoku (multigrain) rice for ($2)
I do expect better chicken-batter ratio coming from Ootoya. Btw I also expected chicken breast but I think this one is a matter of personal preference.
I came during lunch time and it took quite long for my meal to come. It was quite busy but I do think service can be better

Ordered this cold side dish thinking the vegetables will come with the usual sesame Japanese salad dressing.

Instead, it came with a black sesame dressing. More sweet than savoury.

If you like cold, sweet spinach, you can give this dish a go.
