Basil chicken was well-marinated, I enjoyed every bite of it! So was the tarakurozu-- very tasty 😋 . This is one of my favourite Japanese food restaurants in Singapore 👍👍👍
Haven't been to Ootoya for ages (years) and they have changed their menu! Love their homestyle japanese meals. This cod fish soup was warm and comforting on a rainy evening. The cod fish chunks were generous, tasted fresh and tender (I'm not a fan of frozen cod so this tasted really good!). The mixed seasonal vegetables were sweet and
delicious!
Eating healthy can be simple & delicious as this. Every set comes with chawanmushi & rice. You can also order it as ala carte for $15.30
Similar to Ichiban Sushi (but better in terms of taste and nutrition I feel), Ootoya offers a range of bentos sets with various types of meat to suit your taste buds. This Sumi Yaki Tori Jyu ($16.90) came with my choice of rice (I got gokoku - a mixture of brown & purple rice and barley) topped with tender grilled chicken drenched in sweet sauce, a healthy serving of vegetables, pickles, miso soup and chawanmushi. The portion size was perfect as I left feeling satisfied without being stuffed. This is a good restaurant if you want something simple yet hearty and delicious!
So here's the next best option from the revamped menu, Beef Steak 🐮 ($22.50, ala carte). Grilled beef marinated with Shoyu Kouji on hot plate with onion sauce on the side.
No more favorite parfait 😢 Anyway here's one of the new desserts, Peach Parfait ($7). Milk tea pudding, castella cake, peach mousse, whipped cream, white peach and vanilla ice cream. Their castella cake is always lovely and the milk tea pudding taste is true. On a side-note, price is also higher than it was previously.
