With a slimmer menu for weekend brunch, Open Farm Community’s Red Dot Baked Eggs ($28) was a safe and decent choice. A little different from the all-familiar Shakshuka, the one-pan poached eggs dish was served with a tangy beef bolognese, cheese, and pesto. The cheese and beefy sauce made it pretty substantial and hearty while the pesto added some herbaceous flavour that help counter the richness. The charcoal you tiao, on the side, was not greasy, crispy, and great for mopping up the eggy goodness.

Mushrooms are from Kin Yan farm apparently and they are very delicious. I liked how the eggs were "planted" nicely into the sourdough bread (and it's sourdough!! which i absolutely love) such that it doesn't wobble off and seeps into the bread nicely when cut. Overall i love how the flavours come together especially with the herbs. I would have liked it if the mushrooms were a bit fatter instead of being sliced so thin, so that the texture becomes more satisfying.

The ceviche and roast chicken thigh were pretty nice! The service was also very proactive, attentive and welcoming- in juxtaposition to a review below on bad service. Perhaps a good sign that they value feedback and improve on it.

This was one of those things on the menu which was stated as ‘Seasonal’ and ‘Ask the chef’ for more details, which people typically tell you to stay away from 😛 but boy were we glad that we took a leap of faith and gave this a try - the pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned, accompanied with a young papaya (!!!) sauerkraut, Genting tomato salad and fries. True to its philosophy, the food we had that day allowed the quality ingredients to speak for itself - clean flavours and harmonious pairings that comes with respect for the food put on the table 🙂

+ the cosy and chill vibe and excellent service (shoutout to you Xavier!), we’re looking forward to our next visit.

Refreshing sandwich that actually fills !

Meat: Juicy and tender
Bread: Sour dough with a spread of magical sauce

Open Farm Community is a huge and airy Dempsey restaurant with a large patio at the back for alfresco dining - see if you can spot the roving chickens! We love this spot for its farm-to-table eating philosophy and healthy menu, with dishes such as Roasted Chicken Thigh topped with kai lan and tamarind bbq sauce and Sweet Potato Tortellini. Burppler Tiffany Lim recommends the Local Peking Duck Rillette, which comes with crispy sourdough that "is so good, and this starter definitely makes you want to eat more."

Regret to share our unpleasant experience during our visit to Open Community Farm, Minden Road, Singapore on 15th Aug, 2020.

We ( me and my boyfriend) had visited Open Community Farm for lunch last Saturday.  Once given a seat we requested for 2 cups of hot water while settling on the menu. We were wearing our masks ON all the time.
Once they served the water, my boyfriend removed mask to drink the water. Mr. Alex Restaurant Supervisor immediately showed up and gave us some rude instructions to keep the mask on while drinking the water.
 It sounded a bit strange, so we checked how we can drink the water with a mask on. He replied that whenever we take a sip we need to pull down the mask and sip the water and immediately put back the mask.
This sounded totally funny and strange. He added these are instructions from MOH Singapore.
Well, we complied to his instructions as law is meant NOT to be violated.
But we could see that people in at least 3 tables around us were not wearing masks but having their drinks (no food on the table).  So, my boyfriend pointed out to Mr. Alex that why the pax in those tables were not wearing masks.   He added the laws are  to be complied by everyone. Somehow, he got offended and he yelled at us to get out of the restaurant.
We were literally shocked by his goofy and bully behaviour. We must say that this experience was the rudest and unpleasant experience from any service industry we have come across the world...
We have taken a few photos on the tables where people with their drink but not the masks on. We don t want to post it here as we respect their privacy.
Later we checked with MOH on the phone and they conveyed that there is no such rule to keep the mask on while drinking the water. So, there was no such rule, it was just that Mr. Alex decided to show some ra**st bullying act here to my boyfriend.
Well, no more visits to Open Community Farm.

Focaccia is sliced into thick strips and spread with a layer of garlic before toasted to slight char. It comes with separate butter, salt and olive oil but this is nice even on its own without all the condiments.

Nicely plated chicken thigh roasted with slight char on the skin, topped with kai lan and sunflower seed. Tamarind BBQ sauce is a nice addition to enhance the flavour of the chicken even further.

This is restaurant that is passionate about sustainable dining and celebrating local produce. I've dined there several times, and they serve locally sourced, seasonal and innovative dishes.
🔸
I'm glad that they're doing delivery this Circuit Breaker, and of course as much as we want to reduce waste, you'll expect them to use environmentally friendly disposables too.
🔸
Pictured is their Fish Set for Two ($90), comprising of:
* Steamed Tiberias Barramundi
* Corn and Coconut Chowder
* Genting Tomato Salad
* French Fries
* Choice of two donuts - Chocolate and Pineapple pictured.
🔸
In addition to the Fish Set, also pictured is an ala carte order of Duck Rilette ($20) with House Sourdough Crackers, and Cauliflower Wings ($16) in Tamarind Miso Glaze.
🔸
These are healthy and tasty dishes. Not to mention that we are also supporting local farmers, produce, and sustainable farming.

Besides Open Farm, some other Spa Esprit Group's F&B brands are also offering pick-up and delivery orders - The Butcher's Wife, Drunken Farmer and Tiong Bahru Bakery.

This dish is Roses For Chocolate - roselle jam and sorbet, chocolate mousse & crumble (VG)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'm madly in love with the dark chocolate mousse and the crumble, with a little cold and soury in the middle of this dessert. It is light and refreshing for a dessert.

Topped with cured egg yolk and sunflower seed. Paired with butter sesame sauce. $16++
