Went for a mini staycation at Hilton Singapore using NTU Students Promo. Quite frankly, the ala carte breakfast went beyond my expectations. It came with omelette, cherry tomatoes, fruits, sausages, hashbrowns, yoghurt, pastries and tea, more than enough to fuel me for the morning. All these for $19 (promo price) was quite worth it, however, for those with no promo privileges, the original price for this is $38, might not be as worth it.

Watch in excitement as whiskey is set on fire and poured over the 1.2kg whiskey-aged Rangers Valley Wagyu Tomahawk ($158++).

The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare doneness and the flaming alcohol helped to perfume the air with the slight beefy aroma.
Despite the cut of meat not being the crazy high end marbled kinds, I liked that the steak was dry aged which helped develop the deep beefy flavour and made the meat super tender.

With the Work From Hotel Package [$30.40] you can choose either a lunch set or breakfast set.

Ambiance
There’s also free Wifi all day and you don’t need to constantly log in. You can stay from 9am (or 10am) until 5pm. I was there till 7pm because of my work hours. The lights get extremely dim from 6pm onwards - kind of like almost sitting in the dark. The table is a little low but very spacious... The table next to the wall has little cubbies and charging points on an extension. Way more roomy, would recommend.

Food
I opted for breakfast since I’m kind of a hotel breakfast person - I went with the Breakfast at Hilton which consisted of free flow water, coffee or black tea, one breakfast main of scrambled eggs, Danish pastry (which looks more like two croissants), hash brown and two rather bouncy sausages. The juice options were apple/orange, I went with orange. I wish there were more tea options, rather than just very strong black tea. The breakfast also came with pork bacon and a small amount of baked beans. There was also a bowl of corn flakes with milk. Soya milk is available too.

The a la carte menu is 30% off. It’s advisable to book the Work From Hotel package at least 2 days’ in advance!

Cakes
There is a selection of many assorted and reasonably priced cakes at D9 Cakery. We shared a Pear dessert and Carrot Cake which they’re famous for.

The Pear contained pear cubes, creme caramel tea infused mousse, valrhona inspiration yuzu chocolate and almond sponge. The carrot cake was on a dense side but good for sharing!

Think this was a pretty good experience overall! :) I managed to get my work done and have productive discussions albeit the minor distractions of neighbouring diners’ conversations within earshot.

Tasty and good enough for 2 very hungry people, otherwise 3 can share the plate.

There’s a free-flow wine promotion during Sunday to Thursday at $18 per head. Great value!

Watermelon & Feta Salad ($15) which is a refreshing addition to the meal with its sweet juicy cubes of yellow and red watermelon, paired with feta cheese cubes and white balsamic sauce.

The bone-in Australian Rosedale Ruby Sirloin ($138++) is presented to diners in a closed glass dome for a show-stopping theatrical presentation, as the vast amounts of smoke waft off from the dome when opened to reveal the enormous sirloin steak sitting within. It is seasoned with chef's special marinade, and then masterfully grilled over an open-flame charcoal grill before being smoked to finish for an alluring woodsy char aroma. Definitely, a dish that evokes all senses of sight, scent and taste.
