We ordered the Tomahwak and bone marrow.

One of the two pieces of bone marrow appetiser was undercooked. It was still cold, chewy, and opaque in color. That was an extremely bad experience. At least, they served us a replacement.

We thought that was it.

Our next course, the tomahawk steak was underwhelming and the sauces were excessively salty (truffle and wild mushroom, bordelaise). Close to a $200 and a dish that is a chef recommendation, it was not worth the hefty price tag.

To top it all off, the service (there was a service charge) was dismal. They did not bother to clear used plates or refill our drinks unless prompted. They were already struggling to find space on the already crowded table and they walked away without clearing used and empty plates.

First and last. 🥲

Amongst the 2 mains we had ordered, this stood out more! The flesh was moist, buttery and tinder, with firm flakes. Coupled with the chimichurri sauce, there was an explosion of flavour in my mouth. Usually, I would go for Salmon because I’m afraid of fishiness but this dish had none of it. The thin crust added a texture to the dish and brought it to a whole new level. I’m still dreaming of the dish after a day has passed 🥺 9/10

This year, we decided to have our christmas dinner at Hilton hotel’s Opus Bar & Grill for their semi-buffet dinner. At $98++, each person was entitled to 1 main and unlimited ala carte dishes, festive cheese and desserts platter. My bf chose the braised wagyu short ribs as his main which came with cherry tomatoes, grilled asparagus and hassel back potatoes. It was obvious the ribs had been braised for a long time in red wine as they were soft and tender. We didn’t have to chew much as the meat would melt in our mouth. A traditional classic! 7/10

Went for a mini staycation at Hilton Singapore using NTU Students Promo. Quite frankly, the ala carte breakfast went beyond my expectations. It came with omelette, cherry tomatoes, fruits, sausages, hashbrowns, yoghurt, pastries and tea, more than enough to fuel me for the morning. All these for $19 (promo price) was quite worth it, however, for those with no promo privileges, the original price for this is $38, might not be as worth it.

Ok the tomahawk medium rare was sooo good so tender n melty (we had medium well for some other steak at opus, I think it was the platter n it wasn’t good, so medium rare is the way to go tbh). The 3 types of salts (pink, black n white) were perfect w the steak 💯 so gorgeous too

Watch in excitement as whiskey is set on fire and poured over the 1.2kg whiskey-aged Rangers Valley Wagyu Tomahawk ($158++).

The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare doneness and the flaming alcohol helped to perfume the air with the slight beefy aroma.
Despite the cut of meat not being the crazy high end marbled kinds, I liked that the steak was dry aged which helped develop the deep beefy flavour and made the meat super tender.
