Reviews at Osteria Art

Reviews of good food at Osteria Art

I didn't quite enjoy this. Overall it was a lovely meal, and we look forward to the next 100 gourmet dinner which features a female Chef!

The @100gourmet July edition at @osteriaart. Menu has 3!!! dessert. (Btw #CitiPrestige members pay $100 for 2 persons instead of per pax ๐Ÿ‘Œ)

Itโ€™s with this mindset that I always tend to order a meaty red wine tomato based pasta every time i visit an Italian joint. |
Last nightโ€™s adventure at Osteria Art was no different with their Pappardelle with pork cheek and red wine ($35). I have come to realise that a lot of Italian restaurants serve a meat based pappardelle but few get it as good as Osteria Art. |
The pasta was al dente and its thick sheets went perfectly with the sauce but the star was definitely the pork cheeks. The braised pork cheeks were spectacular: subtly melt in the mouth, deeply flavored, with a sauce reduced to a turn topped with crispy lardons, little crunchy treasures that add incredible texture and smokiness to the dish. |
The only downside was that the portions were pretty small and we definitely werenโ€™t as satiated as we expected to be. Service wasnโ€™t the greatest as well as it took almost 30 minutes for the starting bread to be served.

3 Course Early Dinner Menu [$40]

Tagliolini with Crab and Pachino Tomato
Beef Cheek with Pumpkin and Spinach
Osteria Art Tiramisu

Additional Ala Carte Prosciutto di Parma with Cantaloupe & Marsala [$25], Tagliolini with Crab and Pachino Tomato [$32].

Usually I don't order tomato based pasta cause I hate tomato!! But this is real good!!!!!! My friend and I even order ala carte pasta after our set meal ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Prices stated before GST & SC.

We went for lunch at Osteria, the place was packed for a Tuesday! Ordered the tagliolini with crab and tomatoes ($35++), there was generous amounts of crab meat but the serving size was rather small. Pasta was cooked slightly softer than Al dente (I prefer a bit more of a bite). Only complaint is that serving size could be slightly bigger. It's filling for smaller appetites (females) but guys might need something more! Not bad value with the entertainer app but otherwise you get better fed ordering the business set lunch.

First time having dinner at Osteria Art. And this dish is really good. The cod is very fresh, cooked to perfection and complemented well by a light creamy tantalising sauce. Highly recommended.

Service was excellent. The waiter (did not manage to get his name) was very friendly and attentive.

However the atmosphere is slightly noisy due to the tight seating arrangement and the bar that is located nearby.

For a restaurant that don't specialize in meat... I was blown away with this dish... Now I know where I could go for a decent serving of beef without burning a hole in my wallet!

Amalfi Lemon & White Chocolate Lingotto with Red Berries
Dessert of the restaurant week dinner set ($58++)
Crunchy chocolate pops in the airy white chocolate mousse which sits on the fluffy chocolate cake sponge.

Prior to the meal, we were asked if we were sharing the main courses. Yes we did, and we were surprised that they served us with a piping hot plate and even cut the portion into halves (after I took my own sweet time taking pictures of the mains)!
The perfectly pan-fried seabass was accompanied with crispy skin, and the firm and silky fish flake was tantalizing when imbued with their homemade zesty rich tomato sauce!
Special shout out to Hai, for the great attentiveness!

We started off wth Osteria Art Tris, made up of Crab Salad, Scallops Carpaccio and Tuna Tartare. The crab salad was sprinkled with salmon roe, and the chunky fresh crabmeat was sweetly contrasted with the savory roes bursting in your mouth with every bite.
The thinly sliced scallops carpaccio were doused with generous amount of caviar, a complex pairing yet adding on a subtle aroma.
Tuna Tartare was fresh, but had a weird bitter aftertaste.
Do consider their festive menu till 30 December 2015 at only $98+ because their service level was way beyond fantastic. At such a price (where most places will โ€˜hammerโ€™ you during this season) for festive menu and their exquisite ambience, I am more than willing to visit them again!

Littered with shavings of truffle and Parmesan, these al dente pockets of pasta are filled with beef mousse โ€“ the taste was alright, but I hated the texture of the filling. For a far more enjoyable beef agnolotti, head to 2it&drink at River Valley. That one was truly on point.

Ample of uni that is well mixed with the spaghetti; a tad too rich towards the end 3.8/5

4.5 munchies: Freshly made, well-cooked pappardelle with soft and tender braised pork cheeks that could be torn off easily. I also loved the Italian red wine that was added to the savoury pasta sauce, giving it depth and robustness. Garnished delicately with shaved Parmesan and parsley, this high quality traditional Italian pasta would make an ideal dish for a date night.
