TL;DR, Don't order the chicken katsu curry rice!

Otaru curry rice ($17.8 ++)
Otaru curry rice have 3 kind of meats, chicken katsu, karaage, and ebifurai (fried shrimp) so we could try all the meat served in their curry. The karaage is not as crispy maybe because it's dipped in curry sauce but the meat is sooo soft. The ebifurai is also very good! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken katsu is the worst, it's crispy and the meat is sooooo hard. I don't know what kind of chicken or how old the meat is but I don't recommend it.

The service was great and friendly. The waitress are so nice and helpful to us!

Otaru Suisan, located right beside Ramen Champion, offered set meals to attract diners to their “forgettable” location. Each set meal would come with access to their complimentary salad bar that comprised some greens and appetisers.

The Unagi Tempura Set (S$23.90) was slightly surprising, for quite a significant portion of grilled Unagi on rice, some mixed Tempura, a Chawanmushi, three slices of salmon Sashimi and a bowl of Miso soup. I was quite pleased with the line-up as well as the portions of this meal, but was quite tickled by the omelette shreds on the rice bowl, which sort of reminded me of those garnishing for economic Bee Hoon. But on the whole, this meal was still considerably decent for me to give it a second look the next time I visit Bugis+.

It's not bad but it seems like sth that's available in a good food court lol

All the individual pieces of tempura are coated with a light batter, and doesn't feel heavy as its freshly fried.
As much as I am not a very veggie person, I tried all of the pieces and surprisingly like them all!

This is one value for money set I would say!

In fact, it's such a big bowl that it can be taken as a meal itself.
Creamy potato with mentai sauce topped off with fish roe, which adds a crunchy bite to the salad 👍👍
