Reviews of good food at Otto's Deli Fresh

This plate was loaded with medium rare beef chunks and fresh mushrooms. A dollop of sour cream added on to creaminess of the dish. Pasta was slightly overcooked, but overall a good dish, and I wiped put clean. However, the star of the table was the starters, button mushroom soup (I regret there’s no picture, sorry), it was rich, earthy and comforting. Thumbs up, must try! Will be back again!

PS: It’s on Entertainer!

Burnt Banana Waffle (S$12++)
Smoky grilled banana over buttermilk waffle, topped with peanut butter gelato and a freeze-dried banana
Available at @OttosDeliFresh in @RafflesHollandV
The waffle was light and cripy although I would prefer it to be less dense and more airy. The peanut butter gelato was creamy without too sweet, while the banana was so soft and sweet.

Burnt banana waffle-crisp fluffy, the best kind of waffles. Pb gelato isnt too sweet, combines well with that over ripe sweetness from burnt banana ($12) 4.25/5

Ice chocolate-the drink itself isnt too sweet, perhaps too much water, but the chocolate flavor is actually really good, one of the dark kind. (9.5)

Standard ambiance and okay service. Quick waiting time for the food.

Beef stroganoff-never actually eat any stroganoff before. Pasta is a bit overcooked, might be problem for those al dente eaters, i dont mind. Sauce was pretty good, beef was tender. ($18.5) 4/5

I'm not usually one to order pasta but this was really good! This pasta dish is loaded with beef and mushrooms, and has a surprising crunch from the cornichon. The sour cream also adds a creaminess to the pasta. So hearty! 🤤

Herb crusted pan seared barramundi, that is delightfully moist, and highly flavourful (although some may argued that it's tad salty). Paired with roasted baby potatoes, which I felt almost outshine the barramundi, and a side of greens. It's a definitely a good lunch set.

Many plans to eat pasta but, this was on the Daily Specials board. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It said for 2-3 but, there were just 2 of us and we had it as our main (though I imagine a very hungry person could clean this off easily). This platter included a very tasty 180g beef hangar, 160g crispy skinned pan fried barramundi, a roast beef sausage and 1/2 a spring chicken. These also came with sautéed veggies and a beautiful peppery mash. My faves were the barramundi (so well cooked with a little saltiness that I like with fish) and the beef hangar. Though it was slightly more done than I would have it, it was so nicely prepared and tasted great.

Such a nice quiet spot, decently priced menu and not crowded on a week night. I need to come back to try the beef fettuccine as originally planned though.

Beef stroganoff fettuccine ($16), is so intense, earthy that one couldn't stop eating this plate of glory. Topped generous with beef and button mushroom, and a dollop of sour cream to thicken and enhance the flavour of the deep beef sauce. The beef, so tender and blushing pink, and so visually seductive that I feel like I was having an intimate moment with the dish. Some did commented that it's slightly strong on herbs, but I for one love that intensity.

Very much prefer a crackling caramelisation but rather well done custard base that was served cold. Despite the coolness, the custard's lavender fragrance came through sharply and was very much appreciated. Cost 4.9++ normally i think and very much worth the price.

It's a pity the norwegian salmon capellini was not available during lunch as i really looked forward to it. However the adorable cheery service staff more than made up for it, and the pasta didnt disappoint. Overall a great experience especially at a rather reasonable price point

The duck ragu was pulsatingly meaty and while seemingly lacking in meat, each bite was substantial and the pasta was filling. Really good bite too. Actually preferred this over the beef stroganoff

Ordered medium and glad they cooked it right. Steak was fine but nothing to shout about. The barbeque sauce was really superb and tangy though. Fries were not bad as well and went prefectly with the bbq sauce.

Not sweet enough for me but really chocolatey and velvety. Can see why many people love the fact that it's not overly sweet.

Feta was really strong and liked the presence of the chicken strips as well. A rather large portion for a starter salad.

[Set meal]
Chicken on skewer is basically have tandoori chicken, angmoh style. Well seasoned chicken thigh, that is juicy and tender sits real well with a garden of greens and diced salsa. While the main is yummy (although my only complaint would the meagre portion; of just two sewers), the side of hand cut fries is actually the clear winner. Crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Those thick-cut fries got me singing on the inside. Well-salted, and remain crisp through the meal. The fries definitely stole the show.
