More Reviews of good food at Oven & Fried Chicken (Bukit Timah)

I have tried it b4 as we think that it's meh tbh due to soggy soya sauce on the chicken and also left it too long for dinner time.

I have tried it b4 but the crispness and crunchy for chicken still have even though we eat a bit late.

We all prefer the Yang Nyeom chicken more, the chicken is tender and juicy inside, while outside crispy and coated in sweet spicy sauce.
Beside the chicken, we tried the assorted fish cake soup and Tteokbokki. The Tteokbokki is chewy and quite spicy (good pair for beer).
They do have promotion happy hour till 8pm for their beer ($13 for one pint hoegaarden).

๐Ÿ’ฐ$27 for half Yang nyeom and $24 for half crunch.
$20 for Assorted fish cake and $15 for Tteokbokki.

Ordered the whole Korean Spicy Chicken and it was huge and flavorful. Good enough for 3 people

Insane amount of fries and potato wedges for only $18++! This is a really big appetiser and if you are only visiting with your other half, we would advise you to stay away for this dish as you probably need at least 3 to 4 others to comfortably finish it (the boat is MUCH deeper than it looks from the outside). Do note that the restaurant serves you ketchup by default and you need to pay 50 cents to get a small serving of the spicy yangnyeom sauce (which doubled as our chilli sauce). Otherwise, the fries and potatoes are rather tasteless and there didn't even seem to be salt.

Oven & Fried Chicken didn't accept reservations on a weekend and it can be pretty crowded at meal times so be sure to visit early to get a table!

We also got a spicy option and that was the Yangnyeom Chicken, which we heard was another of the restaurant's bestselling dishes. This was the less spicy version and it was quite manageable although you still get some kick from the spicy-sweet sauce. We heard that the normal-spicy version is really quite spicy and we were wary enough not to order that! ๐Ÿ˜…

Once again, we got the boneless option and it is great because there are no bones to trouble us. However, the entire surface of each chicken piece is covered thoroughly in the spicy sauce so the exterior is no longer crispy. If you prefer something crispy, go for the restaurant's sweet sauce fried chicken instead!

This is the half serving and it's around 8 or 9 pieces of chicken and it costs slightly over $20++!

We were recommended the soy sauce boneless chicken as it was the restaurant's bestseller! Indeed, it was a great dish as the chicken was covered with a thick and generous amount of sweet soy sauce (probably had some honey mixed inside it as well). The chicken pieces were really crispy on the outside and the insides were truly boneless, which is a great option for those who are lazy to deal with the bones. Do note that the boneless option doesn't come free though and you have to pay $4++ more for it. The soy sauce also isn't spicy and you will need to order some of the other dishes if you are looking for something spicy!

For around $42++, there are around 15 pieces of fried chicken in this dish and it is enough for a group of 4 to 5 pax especially since most of us will be ordering other dishes at the restaurant as well!

The standard has fallen sharply. In the past, the jjamppong used to be spicy and have a wokhei taste. However, this time it was extremely peppery (comparable to a bowl of peppery bahkuteh) and has no jjamppong taste at all. The seafood used to be fresh and plump as well, but it was mushy and not fresh.

Alerted the staff to the peppery soup, and was informed that the chef was aware that he has โ€œaccidentally added more pepperโ€. However, instead of replacing, they added more water and all that one could taste was just pepper.

Advise not to get the jjamppong and stick w fried/oven baked chicken if you are here.

Very disappointed w the food and service.

We ordered crispy chicken and oven baked chicken (spicy). The oven baked chicken was good, but crispy chicken was so so.

Kimchi stew was $20 and soy sauced boneless chicken was $25. Additional rice was $2. Came with self served radish and ice water. Went on a weekday around 5.30pm and restaurant was still quite vacant but was quickly filled with the dinner crowd. Very nice chicken but stew so-so.

Visited OFC a couple of times but never tried their jeon before! Pleasantly surprised by their kimchi pancake - itโ€™s not the crispiest, as the middle is chewy, with a decent amount of tangy kimchi. I almost thought it was too thick and soft, until I reached the edges which were thin, crisp and lightly browned! Overall the textural contrast was pretty appealing although Iโ€™m the sort that loves really crisp pancakes. I wouldnโ€™t mind giving this another order or trying their other pancakes along with the chicken.

We chose mixture - came with a good variety of chicken parts ( beast/ drumsticks/ wings). The sauce isnโ€™t that spicy and match very well with a bowl of rice.

Crowd is less nowadays, somehow prefers the chicken at Tanjong Pagar outlet (yeaps there is slight diff)

Delicious classic fried chicken. Ordered a half set which was enough to feed 2 people. It was amazingly crispy and flavourful!

Yangnyeom Wings (awesome and not too spicy) and Kimchi Soup (not too spicy, delicious)

This popular Korean restaurant is all the rage now (they have 3 outlets around the island) for its variety of chicken - roasted, air-fried, and deep-fried. Of course, we're going for the latter, which come in seasonings such as original, yangnyeom (Korean spicy sweet sauce) and soy sauce. Burppler Van T recommends going with a big group of friends and order plenty to share, "and maybe order soju for the mood!"

Not really recommend to order crunch yang nyeom chicken (the sauce too sweet for me). But do recommend kimchi soup! The soup is very delicious

Labelled as โ€œmust tryโ€, this rather unorthodox dish stood out from the rest with its pop of colours.

On one side of the bowl was delectably fried chicken - light crisp breading wrapped the tender meat, drizzled with sweet chili sauce. On the other were the refreshing flavours of iceberg lettuce (and vegetable friends), dressed in yogurt and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

As someone with low spice tolerance, the cold creaminess of the salad was both an indulgence and comfort in the face of the heat. Itโ€™s a pretty good modern take on Korean cuisine with notes of sweet and savoury and everything nice.

Fried chicken is authentic korean taste and well marinated. I ordered half portion and it have 7 pieces. Seafood pancake is total disappointment. It tasted more like spring onions pancake.. Taste wise not much flavour too.. This place specialised in chicken so not much menu items. They have army stew, kimchi soup and ramyeon too.. Maybe i'll probably go back after i forget today experience ๐Ÿ˜†
