Decent rendition/clone of the NYC halal guys (but of course halal guys is still the best). Pulled beef is nice and tender. Falafel was abit of a surprise as it didn't taste the same as the usual ones. Rice is moist and tasty. Local Sambal is very spicy!

Yellow basmati rice, fluffy pita, spiced chicken, lettuce n' tomato salad and a tangy white sauce (mayo/yogurt/vinegar?) all come together in one spankin' delicious mess - an unrefinement that tickles the senses most when you're stumbling down dimly lit streets, mildly inebriated in the chill of night. At $9.90, the portion is a steal.

Maybe I'm being oddly specific with my descriptions, but it's this kind of grub that gives off the rawest feelings and ticks all my boxes.

I love this place. Fuss free good food and great prices. I was satisfied for less than $10 here.

I haven't tried the famed halal guys this place is supposedly to feel like but I enjoyed my pitas. Soft pitas and the chicken was juicy and well marinated.

Delicious!! Extremely balanced and flavourful. Good portion to have you feeling satiated. It was $6.90, reasonably priced! 10/10 recommend!

For a very reasonable $9.90/$10.90 (chicken/beef), you get a generous bowl of their signature yellow basmati rice, fresh pita, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, housemade white and red sauces. Before we touch on flavour, let me just kindly point out that when I say this is a generous bowl: I actually mean MASSIVE. There’s a mound of rice in there, and most importantly enough meat to keep you going as well. “What about the taste,” you ask? OOF. The rice was perfectly cooked (read: grains still fully intact) and well-seasoned too; meats flavourful, juicy, and tender; and man were their sauces on point. The white sauce is tangy, garlicky, and cool, while the red sauce packs quite a massive punch; so together they balance each other out to create an absolutely delicious and satisfying meal.

Here at this hidden gem of a place, Overrice does their own rendition of the rice bowls with other menu items such as pita sandwiches, sides and desserts. The rice bowl is served with a base of seasoned basmati rice, topped with your desired proteins of chicken ($9.90), pulled beef or falafel balls, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and a good drizzle of the white sauce, with the red sauce (spicy!!) served on the side. On the other hand, the pita pocket has the same ingredients without the rice. Not to be missed are the Yawn Balls ($7), which are recommended by the staff and we are glad we ordered them, as it is very similar to our “hae zor”, made with shredded yam and prawn paste.
