A nice place to chill and relax. A pretty quiet cafe, even on weekends.
Tried their cappuccinos $5.50 per cup.
Coffee was smooth and well-balanced.
Not as acidic as most coffees out there. It is def one of my go to Cafe when I'm in the area. :)

So creamy and smooth! I think this particular hot chocolate is made by pouring hot milk on chocolate to melt the chocolate into a creamy drink. There’re some specks of chocolate left on the sides of the cups which are nice. This definitely isn’t the most chocolatey or bitter chocolate beverage, but it’s a comforting milk chocolate drink overall that’s a good accompaniment to a meal at Paddy Hills as it won’t overpower your tastebuds so you can enjoy the food too.

Originally thought this would be added on directly on our egg frittata dish, so we were amused when these four sausages were served on a separate dish. Guess they’re very particular how their mains are presented.

For $7, these four sausages (about the size of an index finger) looked quite measly and sad on their own plate. Thankfully, they tasted good. They weren’t too salty, and the maple flavour was subtle, but did well to balance the savoury pork with a little sweetness. Probably wouldn’t order this again because it’s pricey, but I guess it would’ve been a nice part of the big breakfast main.

This vegetarian main comes with an egg frittata packed with onions and spinach. It’s plated with some pickled cherry tomatoes, roasted cherry tomatoes, sourdough and pesto.

Overall the presentation of the dish is pretty, with the pops of colours from the red and yellow cherry tomatoes, but gosh how sour these pickled tomatoes were!! I immediately recoil thinking about my experience of unsuspectingly eating one pickled cherry tomato when I was expecting a sweet burst of juice but got a mouthful of pucker-inducing sourness. I think the dish would’ve been better without those. The roasted cherry tomatoes were nice though so it would’ve made more sense to just use roasted tomatoes instead.

As for the sourdough, instead of serving a slice of bread, Paddy Hills cuts them up into small pieces and toasts them to a crisp. I’m not a fan. I would’ve preferred a piece of dense and spongey European bread to chew on rather than crunching my way through the toasted bread.

The egg frittata itself was quite nice. The ends crisped up slightly so they were a nice contrast against the eggy interior. The frittata was moist inside, which is a plus. I think this is another case of trying to be innovative but trying too hard, as the frittata was nice but these extras in the pickled cherry tomatoes and crunchy sourdough bits missed the mark and left me unsatisfied with the dish.

This sharing side of cauliflower comes with ‘s’ sauce, kimchi and nori. It’s an interesting dish for sure, since cauliflower fritters seem to be making an appearance in more cafe menus, yet this is the first I’ve seen with a dollop of kimchi on top.

The cauliflower florets are nicely breaded and fried. They aren’t overly oily, and the layer of batter is so thin, you won’t feel like you’re getting an extra load of carbs on carbs. Honestly, the kimchi was interesting, but didn’t seem to elevate the dish as the cauliflower fritters could have done without the kimchi. The sauce tasted like a thick sesame soy sauce and imparted a sweet and salty flavour which I enjoyed with the fritters, but some at the table didn’t enjoy it. Maybe this is a case of trying too hard to be creative, because the cauliflower fritters are a solid offering on their own.

The coffee blend at Paddy Hills is quite mild, with a light nutty finish. If you prefer something milkier and not strong on caffeine, a classic latte here would make a good choice.
