The pici and gnocchi were wonderful. Done al dente and enveloped in flavourful sauces, they were well worth the queue! My favourite was the pici as it went really well with the cacio & pepe (cheese & pepper), which was rich but not cloying.
Didn’t really enjoy the fettuccine because of the nduja, but the mascarpone & lemon sauce helped to brighten it up. My friends enjoyed it though!
Once you get past the massive queue (get there early)... the pasta is incredible (like, my super fussy Italian friend approves)! Everything is great, and prices are very reasonable. One plate isn’t quite enough though so, might have to order a couple plates per person (or share, if you’re feeling generous). Staff are also super friendly. 100% recommend.
Pici cacio & pepe from Padella. Even before the shop was open at 5pm, there was already a snaking queue around the block. Despite this being a relatively simple dish - pasta cooked with a simple sauce of parmesan and pepper - it is one of the favourites here and it's easy to see why. Perfectly-cooked al dente pasta that isn't too gelat like cabonara, yet is still creamy and rich because of the parmesan.
