Thrilled to see that they maintained their standards since my last visit, when they first opened.
I wanted something more filling, so I went for the 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 ($14). The chunks of chicken were juicy and succulent, and the rich melted cheese was so satisfying — simple but so good.

This was the highlight during my visit to Papi’s Tacos 😋
💲: $13

These are soft tacos packed with freshly grilled dory and crispy red cabbage. Topped with their house sauces, the right amount of spice brings the whole dish together. I really enjoyed them and will come back!

Experience: From the moment I walked in, the casual and laid back atmosphere was palpable. My seat at the bar counter meant that I could chat with the chefs, and see how my tacos were prepared, to the moment they were served hot to me. It's a sensory experience altogether.

Not a place for long catch-ups though - the small restaurant and crowd meant that people were always coming and going.

The pulled pork burrito, accompanied by Mexican rice, black bean, cheese and sour cream has layers of flavor coming through. However it can be more intense. Relatively light which is unusual for a burrito, it gets better with the hot sauces which were relatively mild as well.

Price: $15

Portions are a tad teeny, meats can be a little under-seasoned; but top it all off with the homemade sauces, then take a bite into their soft, fluffy, toasty tortillas — mmmmm 🤤🤯 What stands them apart from other taquerias lies in how meticulous the chefs are in executing the dishes. Take the quesadilla for example: you can get pretty decent quesadillas elsewhere, but more often than not you’ll find the surface lined with oil, and your fingers slick with grease halfway through a piece. That attention to detail extending towards all their dishes = 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

This was my favourite out of the four tacos we tried. The pronounced seasoning of the flaky fish was balanced by the fresh squeeze of lime juice and mild heat from the chipotle aioli wonderfully. Get three (each)!
