Located within a nondescript foodcourt at Bras Basah complex, it’s one of the better minced meat noodle of recent memory. Soup was robust and savoury. The noodles were springy throughout, while the gravy has a good balance of vinegar and salty which makes it not overly heavy on the palate.

The star of the dish is the dumpling (only 1 though). It’s full of meaty goodness yet relatively light and making you want for more. Also, do add the roasted garlic and pork lard as they elevate the dish to the next level. My top 5.

The Bak Chor Mee ($4.50) from Parklane Teochew Mushroom Minced Meat Mee (Bras Basah Complex) boasts of springy noodles tossed in a delicious chilli sauce. It comes with pork dumpling and free flow lard cubes and fried garlic cloves. I seldom find fried garlic cloves in BCM and it works surprisingly well - the strong garlic flavour complements the noodles and gives it an extra kick. The sauce is not very vinegary so I added an extra dash of vinegar to balance out the flavours to my liking. A pretty good bowl of BCM I must say:)!

Truly lived up to its name of good meepok!! This is humbly tucked in bras basah, next to nlb :) super reasonably priced as well. The uncle prepping my food was also very friendly & nice despite the long queue, would defo recommend if in this area! A super yummy (+ healthy) meal option!!

Noodles were a bit lumpy today but still enjoyable. Requested for less chilli but the message wasn't passed on to the uncle πŸ™„ Plus points for free flow lard and garlic.

It brought back so much memory when I finally made my way there last year. Having frequented them very often before my church underwent renovation, I was glad that it was still as good as how I remembered it to be. The qq noodle was packed with typical BCM ingredients: fishcakes, meatballs, fishball, teochew dumpling (sweet minced pork with no prawn 😝), minced meat and a lil bit of bean sprout. The part that I love the most is the free-flow fried farlic and lard, giving the contrasting crunch and pungent flavour to the bowl. I often tell myself I probably can finish the bowl of noodle with only fried garlic and lards, and nothing else.
