- Al dente pasta, sauce was quite tasty but the depth of meaty flavour was absent.
- Some parts of the beef chunks were a little tough and contained small amounts of tendon ๐ฅฉ [5/10]
- Having โpastaโ in the restaurant name, itโs a shame the pasta was undercooked and hard.
- Presentation was rather plain with only pasta and pancetta.
- Sauce lacked in flavour and seasoning, even Pastamania can do better ๐ฅฒ [2/10]
- Interesting combi, calamari was crispy and chewy!
- Tanginess of lemon butter sauce was barely present, could have stronger savouriness. [6/10]
Considering the number of times I have been to Pastaria Abate, it has taken me long enough to try the truffle carbonara spaghetti despite seeing pretty great reviews about it. The regret is real โ I have been missing out on something so good for so long!? The delicate balance of flavours was well-executed, with the cheesiness, creaminess, and savouriness coming together so impeccably. Loved the slight saltiness of the guanciale, and how it was topped off with a beautiful poached egg.

Al dente linguine with saffron sauce which was served with a brilliant aroma. The sauce gave a slight buttery and earthy taste which was also creamy and slightly sweet at the same time. A delightful creamy pasta dish that remains light on the palate.

Since I didnโt get my go-to Italian meatball pasta, I still had to fulfil the essential duty of having meatballs at Abate by going for their side. Priced at $7.80 each, Abateโs meatballs consistently deliver juiciness in each bite, alongside an impeccable texture that is soft and compact. So no fear that it is mushy nor too easily deconstructed.
