My first time trying blue pea infused pasta ($18). I had pasta shaped like stars which had mala chilli and tobiko sprinkled on top. Definitely worth a try.

Long pasta, somtum dressing, garlic prawns, squid

A light and refreshing pasta served chilled. This resembles pretty much like a Thai salad pasta with their sour & spicy dressing. Comes with cherry tomatoes, dried shrimps, garlic, long bean, peanut, prawns, squid and shredded papaya. Order this if you are someone who loves Thai food.

Curly pasta, sichuan garlic oil, garlic prawns, lup cheong crumble and tobiko

I was expecting this to be something garlicky like a aglio olio but it turned out to be a mala pasta 😅 I liked their purple looking curly pasta infused with blue pea flower that was done al dente. This is like a fusion of Chinese, Italian and Japanese dish with the combination of pasta, mala and tobiko. Luckily Burpple Beyond comes with a free flow drink coz the mala almost killed my tongue. It was quite interesting especially with the tobiko added for a different texture to this dish.

Truffle Cream (S$19++)
Long pasta, truffle cream, mushrooms, kombu, garlic chips, parmigiana reggiano
Best have it while still hot. Else it would become kind of too dry and lumpy.

Prawn Olio Olio (S$18++)
Curly pasta, Sichuan garlic oil, garlic prawns, lap cheong crumble, tobiko
The minced sausage was too finely minced to make an impression. Would prefer if cubes of luncheon meat was used instead.

Spiced Supremo Chicken Skins (S$6++)
Addictive with slightly spicy taste. Kind of oily for the bottom half.

Corn & Crab (S$6++)
Corn, swimmer crab, furikake .

Once again, I find more and more validation that classic tried-and-tested pasta dishes are the best way to approach pasta as I got disappointed by the lack of depth of “fusion” or “local” pasta.

The “Chicken Rice” Pasta ($16++) realized that Chicken Rice should just be Chicken Rice. Kudos that the poached chicken was done nicely but the whole pasta dish just tastes like dried al dente ban mian in a watery a concoction of diluted chucken stock and garlic ginger chicken rice chili sauce. The reason why we should not explore certain fusion dish ideas because it just doesn’t work.

The Porky Marinara ($14++) was nothing to shout about, carried by its pork belly slices and deep fried pork lard crumbles. The sauce, which is the heart of a pasta dish, was an uninteresting and unflavourful tomato-ey sauce.

We also ordered two sides.

Corn and Crab ($6++) was corn kernels with cooked crab mince with some Japanese furikake. Not bad, not amazing.

The Spiced Supremo Chicken Skins ($6++) was great with a cumin-based seasoning to the crispy chicken skin

Despite the good value provided by Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 Mains and Sides, I think overall, the palate of Pasta Supremo does not match our preferences at all in terms of complementary ingredients and tastes which is definitely what makes or breaks fusion cuisine.

Vege wege was a v tasty rendition of a vegetarian pasta I loved the herbs (Thai holy basil) n the crunchy cashews + sweet sunflower seeds + charred miso corn. Sides were meh the meatballs (2 only) were $8 abit overpriced imo. But worth it overall if u have Beyond
