When you find yourself craving Penang fare, simply head to Jalan Kepong for authentic dishes that will satisfy. Come on an empty stomach and dive straight for the Char Kuey Teow (RM6.50) that sees wok hei-laden flat noodles stir-fried with prawns, cockles, crunchy bean sprouts and Chinese sausages. Another signature dish to look out for is the White Curry Mee (RM6.50), featuring pork blood curd, juicy cockles, cuttle fish and pork balls in a fragrant coconut milk-based broth. You can give your dish a flavour boost with a dollop of chilli paste. Also good is the Chee Cheong Fun (RM5) that comes doused in sweet sauce and a tangy chilli sauce.

As mentioned, the wok hei-laden plate! I was never a fan of CKT but we finished this entire plate. All thanks to the fragrant noodles, crunchy beansprouts, and Chinese sausages.

They call it Penang chee cheong fun so I expected it to be the same as Genting Cafe’s famed peanut butter & har gao chee cheong fun, but don’t get your hopes up because it wasn’t similar.
BUT, it was still delicious. Especially liked the chilli sauce which was a little tangy, a little spicy, and a whole lot of flavour! Yum.

Love love love everything we ordered! Tucked away in Kepong, this place serves amazing Penang eats. From white curry mee to wok hei-laden char kuey teow, they have it all, and they do it well!
Let’s talk food. White curry mee was super rich with coconut milk. Loaded with fat and juicy siham, tau fu pok, pig’s blood and meat balls. (Talking about it just makes me crave for it more now) I don’t usually eat yellow noodles, but theirs were so springy, I couldn’t stop!

Greedy me strikes again! Can’t come to a Penang shop and not have CKT. Flavours remind me of what you’ll find in Penang but with less juicy prawns. Can’t complain too much as we still whacked the whole thing.

Greedy me decided that we needed an extra dish, so we got this! So simple yet so satisfying. Appreciated that the chilli wasn’t so spicy, but most importantly love how delicious the sauces are. Best part are the crunchy onions on top!
