Ordered this fragrance beehoon from Penang seafood restaurant! Wasn't quite sure what this item was when I saw it listed on the menu since there were no photos. Just nice, I checked out Instagram photos and saw someone recommending this. This is essentially like fried shengmian but in beehoon form. I greatly recommend this! Much easier to eat than shengmian as well as it is thinner and once soaked in the gravy you can have the less fried version too! One packet is filled with 2 prawns, many slices of pork and fishcake. The eggy gravy went well with the fried meehoon!

If you happen to be in the neighbourhood, this is not a bad place to go to. Decent food, efficient service, and reasonable prices (except for a few ridiculously-priced, gimmicky dishes). However, we’ve all had better Assam Laksa, char kway teow, etc.

Salted egg chicken rice (~SGD8++): Realised today that the aljunied area is actually packed with so many foodie gems 🤩 This salted egg sauce was so creamy, thick and tasty - it really hit home. It can be a bit jelak though, and it’s very salty, so definitely not for the faint hearted. I absolutely loved it though!

This fried kuey teow is similar to the ones you can find in Penang. Not as good, but good enough to satisfy your char kuey teow cravings.

We also had the fried sotong with salted egg. Highly recommended 👍🏻

I was tempted back by this, which I considered among the best. It now comes with clams. It's still clearly the work of a serious kitchen, versus a no-frills hawker, but on this day it was slightly below its previous standard.
