Saw so many posts online raving about Penang Heng Heng Handmade Noodles so we were here to try it!

We arrived at 10am (opening hours as stated on google map) only to be told by the stall owner that they were still preparing and can only start serving at 1030am. Not sure if it was just a one off timing for our day of visit or everyday is the same 1030am then start selling (pet peeve for me is when the opening hours are different from what they state on google map๐Ÿ˜–). So we ended up waiting there for 33mins before our food was finally served ๐Ÿฅฒ

But thankfully it was a very good bowl of noodles!! We got the dry ban mian and dry meehoonkueh. At first when we saw the white colour noodles, we wondered if any black sauce was even added. But fret not, once you mix up the meat sauce w the noodles, it will turn brown! For spicy eaters, be sure to take the sambal chilli sauce at the counter! Super shiok when it is mixed in!

The noodles were also the best banmian i have ever eaten in SG! Chewy noodles are best! Banmian was more chewy than the meehoonkueh!

If you love their sambal chilli sauce, you can also buy home a tub at $5 each!

randomly found this banmian place through good google reviews and was impressed ๐Ÿ’ฏ run by two chill uncles ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป, the noodles were handmade cooked till chewy โœจ The chilli scallion oil and fried anchovies marinate of the dry base was like none other i had๐Ÿ‘ An in between of scallion oil and sauce ban mian ๐Ÿ’—
โ€ฆ
There is a whole prep station dedicated behind for their dry chilli mix which must be some secret mix recipe ๐Ÿ˜‚ - all i know is definitely blended in-house ๐Ÿ˜

worth checking it out โ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Tucked away at Sims Avenue, this is probably one of the most satisfying and affordable hand-torn noodles Iโ€™ve had ๐ŸคŒ

We ordered both the mee hoon kueh and you mian. Add in your desired amount of chilli and give it a good mix ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Overall, I enjoyed this much more than itโ€™s better known counterpart Top 1 Homemade Noodle (and lesser wait time too) ๐Ÿคญ

A good spot for affordable satisfying noodles, especially MHK. Would revisit to try their dry ban mian too โœจ

Handmade upon order, the chewy flat noodles comes with a good amount of shallots, ikan bilis and pork lard. The uncle was very nice and gave us an additional egg because he โ€œmessed upโ€ one of the eggs ๐Ÿ’Ž The runny eggs made this so creamy and delicious! One of the best MHK Iโ€™ve had to date ๐Ÿซถ

This was the dark sauce version which my bf had - slightly heavier flavours, it's not too salty tho. They give just enough sauce such that each piece is coated and not drenched! I'll stick to the non-dark sauce version bc that one is just nice! I feel like I appreciate lighter flavours compared to the average Singaporean, so maybe others will find the dark sauce one more satisfying.

It's guuud! The mhk is different from my fav stall (ah yi at marsiling mall) - this one is rolled into sheets before being hand-pulled into mhk pieces. V different textures; this one is still chewy but in a flattened sheet kind of way, ah yi's is more thicc bc they donโ€™t roll it flat.

Mine was the non-dark sauce dry version, which meant the only sauce was the minced meat sauce, but it was still appropriately saucey. Super flavourful, lots of shallots and ikan bilis and lard pieces - will ask for less lard & shallots next time bc I don't prefer so much. Onsen egg is perfectly done with a runny yolk!!

Also a shoutout to the SOUP with mani cai which had a v nice pleasant light mani cai flavour. We stan mhk stalls that use the authentic veg of choice - mani cai!!
