Drumstick with pork belly rice

My favourite Braised Duck rice.

The chilli is great, ask for more chilli!!

The Duck meat is soft and tender.

The pork belly is so soft, it's melts in your mouth.

Expect a queue during lunch time, 10mins wait only.

After ordering, they will bring the food to your table.

Here’s another one of the stalls in Chinatown that I’ve been really enjoying, They sell a bunch of other noodles too like suan la fen and beef noodles, and though this one seems much simpler in comparison, I love the very addictive and appetising punch in the sauce. It’s vinegary, spicy, savoury and a tad bit sweet and numbing. Just peanuts, beansprouts and coriander as toppings, but so good. Gonna be trying their suan la fen next!

I was intrigued after seeing @renztan post about her favourite hawker for roast duck being resurrected, so when I found myself in the area, it was a no-brainer to pop by People’s Park Food Centre to give Toh Kee Roast Meat (stall #01-1016) a try.
Ordered the roast duck, “sio bak” and char siew. All were good with the first two meats being my preferred, and the super juicy and crunchy-skinned roasted pork belly edging out the duck for number one position. This stall does not do sliced cucumbers or sweet sauces. Instead, they scatter some nutty boiled yellow beans (which I love) over the meats, and serve a bowl of runny, savoury dark sauce alongside (it is recommended to be splashed on your rice).
I was told by Sky, grandson of the founder of the now-defunct Toh Kee Roasted Duck stall (note the small name change due to the expanded offering), that he uses the same recipe for his duck. Since I have never had the original, I am unable to draw a comparison but it was tasty (breast meat could have been tenderer though). Enjoyed it most when paired with their customised plum sauce.

🔥Fried dumplings (S$5 for 12pcs) at People's Park hawker centre. Nicely fried crispy layer with juicy meat and chives fillings. Good value for $5 😆.

😋👍 Famous Yong Tao Fu (S$4.50). This is my fav YTF in Chinatown. You can't miss this stall as the queue is always really long. The queue moves fairly quick as they only serve one item.

You get the standard 10pcs YTF. Place your order and let them know your table number (best if you seat near the stall) and they will bring it to you.

The soup is full of flavour even though it looks clear, not too heavy and the YTF is fresh. Must try if you come to this hawker centre for lunch🔥👍.

You probably seeing many people here would have a huge hotpot on their table with a huge fish.

Chuan Wei Fang is one of the famous stall here that sell this. The portion was huge but enough for 3 pax to eat.

Lots of ingredients given and spicy enough. Be careful of the tiny bones and lots of meats.
