From Pepper Lunch
Sizzling hot plate of scallops, saba slice & salmon slice with corn, cabbages & broccoli.
Not bad.

Loved the dish, was extremely fresh and hot. The salmon and chicken mixed well with the rice though I felt it was slightly on the spicier side.

Went here because there this new sous vide truffle beef steak. For about $24, you'll get a set with Truffle Lava Mash, drink, rice and another side. Served in hot playe, was pink in the beginning but cooked the heat made it well done ๐Ÿ˜…. A bit tough, but definitely still nice. Mashed was creamy as well. 4/5

When was the last time I had a meal at Pepper Lunch? This is possibly one place I could think of when I want to have a sizzling DIY teppanyaki dinner.

Beef Pepper Rice (S$9.90) is the first item I have tasted from Pepper Lunch back in those days, and the taste remains the same after all these years. Mixed with their special margarine, ground pepper and their Honey Brown Sauce and Garlic Soy Sauce, the hot-plate fried rice is simply fragrant and comforting after a long day.
What is different is probably the amount of sliced beef they give; it makes the dish look unflattering.

Afraid of smelling bad after the dinner? With less patrons in the restaurant (compared to the past), it simply means that I won't leave the place smelling of my own cooking!

Weirdly, the term lunch doesn't quite sink in as people can be seen eating these for lunch and dinner. Back then when Pepper Lunch first entered the foray, there were throngs of people queuing up to get an order of this Japanese fast food concept and many were interested in the novelty of "cooking" your meal on the iron skillet while adding loads of that duo brown sauce. Now, Pepper Lunch can be seen everywhere in shopping malls and food courts.

My favourite from them has got to the Jumbo Beef Pepper Rice ($11.99) with an additional egg ($0.60). Beef slices are from US and the 2 brown sauces mixed with the rice, corn, spring onion and egg creates a simple yet satisfying meal.
