So there are two popular fish soup stalls in Amoy Street Food Centre which calls for really long queues.. sadly, this stall fell short of expectations for me. While indeed the fish was fresh, and the soup was really flavourful, I think I was quite shocked at the presence of bones in the fish. Maybe Iโ€™m a picky eater, but it really is gutting to know I canโ€™t eat my fish slices in peace๐Ÿ˜” or maybe it is to symbolise freshness? I donโ€™t know the rationale behind leaving the bones in the fish, but Iโ€™ve had fresher boneless fish slice soup elsewhere too! I think whatโ€™s special about this stall is their special chilli with fermented beans, which gives their fish a whole new taste when dipped into it. Overall, will I really come back to a hawker centre to queue for overpriced fish soup with bones and a small bowl of unique chilli dip? Perhaps not๐Ÿ˜”

$๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ) comes with slices of Batang fish as well as prawns. The soup is rich and savoury, infused with the flavour of the seafood. My gripe is that itโ€™s pretty expensive, and the amount of ingredients you get does not match the steep price tag. The fish tend to come in small, thin slices, some of which have a slight greyish tinge and have an off-putting fishy flavour. A few even have bones, so you have to be careful when eating.

Compared to the other popular fish soup stall (Han Kee Fish Soup) at Amoy Street Food Centre, one is certainly more value for money than the otherโ€ฆ
