From the Burpple community

Business apparently got taken over and the quality of desserts/drinks are appalling, even Jack's place serve desserts than this.

To make things worse, Manager in charge is unclear on burpple deals and overcharged me. Avoid at all cost.

Pictured above is the Kueh Salat ($16) with Butterfly Tonic ($24), and Exotique ($18) with Pilcrow’s Sweet Gin ($24).
The Kueh Salat had a nice mouthfeel with its smooth custard that was delicate in the combination of pandan and coconut flavours. I enjoyed everything about the cake, but not so much the very sweet Gula Melaka ice cream scoop on the side. Exotique, Pilcrow’s signature dessert packs a sour punch with its yuzu curd within a beautifully executed coconut mousse. Refreshing, but there was a slight disjoint between the yuzu and coconut flavours for me.
Both drinks were decent, and went great with the respective desserts. On a whole, I loved the progressive concept of the desserts here — how Pilcrow reimagines the flavours and pairs it with beautifully crafted drinks at the same time.

Made with Valrhona 66% Ariaga dark chocolate, the tart itself was rich, luscious and decadent. The accompanying scoop of lychee rose sorbet was light and served as a palate cleanser though perhaps something more tangy would be even better.

Yes to the pairing of exquisite desserts and bespoke cocktails for someone with a sweet tooth. The Strawberry & Cream Mille-Feuille ($18) was put together in a dainty and vibrant presentation. With a cloud of pistachio cream sat in between two crispy, buttery puff pastry sheets and topped with mango bits and strawberries, it was salty, nutty, and tarty. The berries sorbet and fresh fruit added an element of freshness that balanced the tartness and nuttiness.

Paired with Floral Fantasy ($24), the cocktail was light, zesty with hints of flora fragrance. I could taste hints of chamomile-osmanthus from the rum which was an absolute delight.

Gather your kindred spirits for an evening of exquisite desserts and cocktail pairings here at @pilcrowsg by the riverside! Their bold, plated desserts were created for the local palate and made in-house. Each plate is paired with a serving of sorbet. As for their cocktail creations, they are handcrafted with a modern approach to impress your bae.😊

Here’s what we tasted…😬
👉Exotique - SGD16
Japanese yuzu curd with a coconut mousse, paired with zesty lime sobet
👉Pit Of The Plum - SGD22
Plum Spirit, Grapefruit, Yuzu

Went for this pairing since both the dessert and cocktail are recommended on their menu.👍 Beautifully plated, the Exotique was refreshing, not too sweet and boasted a harmony of flavours. The cocktail we sipped was surprisingly good too. Do order these two together if it’s your first time here!

Cosy dessert bar. Ordered the matcha basque burnt cheesecake and the brightside cocktail. This combination was recommended and i thought the recommendation was spot on! Creamy and smooth dessert + refreshing drink = lovely end to the day :)
