Located in Sembawang Hills Food Centre, this stall serves popiah with lup cheong (but I omitted it cos I don't like it).

• Turnips are actually pretty tasty - sweet on its own and tender
• Properly wrapped

• Skin is a little dry and tough, but still chewy
• Can afford to have more crunch

Verdict: 4/5

Heard so much about this famous Ping Kee Popiah stall at Sembawang Hills Food Centre, on how the unique use of Chinese sausages complemented the usual popiah ingredients so well..

I was really looking forward to it… but unfortunately greatly disappointed.

There was only ONE almost paper thin slice of Chinese sausage PER ROLL.

The disappointment did not end here, the popiah skin was extreme dry and difficult to chew, it’s like being left in open air for at least a day or so.

A mainstay at Sembawang hills food centre, this Chinese version of a wrap has everything I love for a lighter dinner option. Piping hot and thick cuts of yam bean thoroughly infused with the gravy, crunchy vegan bean crisps and fresh crunchy bean sprouts, my only gripe would be that the thinly sliced preserved sausage count has decreased to just -one- slice per roll. Oh my! But it always helps that the lady boss at the stall is always ready with a smile. And because she knows that if I'm packing extra rolls, it's definitely for my grandparents whom she also knows, she'll always make it a point to bring it over to me when she sees that I'm almost done with my meal. How's that for customer service! :) #hawkerpedia #burpple

💸 $1.50 each

To be honest, I don’t like the unique addition of chinese sausage which has a strong pork lard taste? But the aunty is very friendly and supportive about the bring-your-own container situation.

$6 for this generous bowl of braised pig trotter. Without much oiliness, just a little too much sugar 👅
