At a pretty hefty price tag of $8/pc, the Soya chiffon definitely did not disappoint in terms of the quality ingredients used. There were desiccated coconut bits by the side which added a nice mouthfeel to the soft chiffon cake. Unfortunately, the coconut fragrance wasn’t pronounced. Same goes to the soya bean chiffon cake too - there wasn’t any hint of ‘soya bean’ fragrance. Overall, tasted like a normal sponge cake which definitely paled in comparison to Swee Heng’s soya bean chiffon cake. A tad disappointing! The saving grace is perhaps the cream which came atop of the chiffon cake - which added some touch of ‘luxe’ but again, did not provide added dimension to the flavour. I saved the other half for the next day (kept the cake refrigerated). As it turns out, the cake was rather dry and falls apart with each bite the next day. It’s sad!

We managed to snag a spot at the outside seating, decent food, good ambience.

Just found out that Plain Vanilla sells mains too! We got to mix and match our choice of pork chops and quiche with refreshing salad sides for an extremely hearty and healthy meal. Prices are also surprisingly wallet-friendly, especially for the serving size, so we would gladly dine here again!

Tried their brunch menu after loving their cupcakes so much but I think I’ll reserve my love for their cupcakes 🙂

💼Service review:
Really friendly staffs that were super patient in waiting for me to choose my pastries🥺

🧁Food review:
Pastries are slightly pricey as they are freshly baked, but they are good quality bakes!💓

✨Strawberry White Chocolate Cupcake✨
The cupcake was quite buttery and did not taste very dry. I really liked how they had tiny strawberries inside, really makes this stand out from other cupcakes😍 The white chocolate frosting on top was also not too sweet and really smooth! Definitely would buy this again😚

💰: $4.20 (each)/ $24 for 6 cupcakes

✨Milk Chocolate Honeycomb Tart✨
The thought of milk chocolate and honeycomb sounds so sweet. I’m kind of glad it was not as sweet as I thought, but it is still sweeter than the other tarts. There was little crunchy honeycomb bits in the chocolate, really adds a little surprise to it, but again, too sweet😵‍💫 However, I really liked the cream inside, which kind of mellows the sweetness of the tart. The chocolate was quite rich, but it did not make my throat dry👍🏻 I recommend sharing this with a friend!

💰: $7

✨Salted Caramel Truffle Tart✨
This was really good! The salted caramel really goes well with the chocolate tart, and surprisingly not as sweet as the honeycomb tart. The chocolate filling was silky and creamy like the other tarts. It did not feel jelak at all! I couldn’t taste any truffle, and I actually chose this as was curious if truffle and chocolate goes well together 🤣
