Tried out PLONK at Serangoon Gardens yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by how huge their Wagyu Beef Burger ($22) was. A really thick patty that was pink in the inside, topped with a slice of bacon, and sitting on top of beautifully caramelised onions, tomatoes and lettuce, between two toasted buns. Quite value of money if you ask me - the portion of beef was truly huge. Fries were alright, crispy and kind of like McDonald’s fries. Love the deco here too! Lots of plants and a lot of woody tones.

Mozzarella, blue cheese, cheddar and parmesan.

TWOSDAY: 2-for-1 Pizzas every Tuesday at Plonk. Exclusively for dine-in guests.

The bacon was like the wavy-haired nymph at the bar you knew was trouble when you walked in - chewy and an alluring BBQ powder-esque spicy at first, but eventually revealing itself to be insistently sticky and possessive. Elsewhere, the avocado played it like a novice in the industry, being more cream than green. 3.7/5

The exhilaratingly tart lemon curd had a texture that's best described as Malay kueh meets pudding, whilst elsewhere the fried shallots required careful portioning to ensure the entirety of the largely vanilla ice cream got the necessary fried fragrance spritz. 3.8/5

Lustre plate of Seafood Aglio Olio with spaghetti cooked to al dente. Filled with garlicky aroma and lavish servings of succulent crunchy prawns, mussels and squid. Total treat for the night!

Deconstructed lemon tart with fried shallot ice cream. Yes, you heard me right, it's fried shallot ice cream! The combination may sounds queer but it turns out to be a pretty good surprise! The crispy and aromatic fried shallot and cookie crumbs balances out the sourness of the lemon curd that literally send a chill down your spine. Quite a creative dish I would say!
