I like that they use more yam and less flour so that it is not as starchy with more earthy flavours. The abacus seeds were accompanied by fried shallots, dried shrimps and mushrooms which were fragrant and goes well with the soft and chewy texture ใ€‹$2.50

Back here again for their ang ku kueh that needs no introduction. Always love the soft and chewy mochi texture skin with generous portions of fillings.

Flavours that I chose this round are salted bean, red bean, peanut, green tea, yam and black sesame ใ€‹$1.30 Each

Came here because my friend is an Ang Ku Kueh lover. Each cost $1.30 per Ang Ku Kueh. I like some of their unique flavour such as coconut.

However, my friend who is an Ang Ku Kueh lover said the skin is thick and chewy which is not her type.

Poh Cheu Soon Kueh & Ang Ku Kueh is a stall in a coffee shop at Queenstown selling super unique AKK flavours! They've got 12 in total, all selling at $1.20 each. I got 6 flavours! All the AKK have sticky, stretchy, mochi-like skin, and are all generously packed with fillings ๐Ÿ˜‹

๐Ÿฅœ Peanut (8.6/10)
I looove the peanut filling in this! There's a nice amount of peanut, kinda similar to a peanut butter texture except its crunchier. Really generous fillings too!

๐Ÿต Green Tea (8.2/10)
Pretty nice green tea flavour! The filling is sweet and smooth and really does taste like sweetener green tea.

๐Ÿฅญ Mango (8/10)
The mango filling is pretty artificial, I don't mind it that much but I do prefer the other flavours. Really unique tho!

โ—ผ Black Sesame (8.3/10)
Was really looking forward to this one and its not bad but I think the black sesame can still be stronger and more nutty. But for $1.20 it's really generously filled and worth it!

โ˜• Coffee (8/10)
This has a light coffee taste with the same filling texture as the green tea and mango ones.

๐Ÿ’œ Yam (8/10)
I find the yam taste in this quite light, but it's still pretty good! Same filling texture as the other akks.

Worth a visit if you're in the Queenstown area! The location isn't the most accessible unfortunately, I wouldnt head all the way down just for these but I do love to check it out whenever I'm nearby.

๐Ÿค‘ worth the price: yes but they're a little smaller than regular AKKs
๐Ÿฆ– would I buy again: sure
๐Ÿ’ would I marry: sure

Comes in a set of 10 at $13. Many flavours from this stall but decided to stick to traditional flavours.

The skin was thin and chewy packed with generous filling! The peanut filling have bits of peanuts in it for that crunch while the black sesame filling was smooth and rich. Definitely will be back to try other flavours ๐Ÿ˜‹

You know how famous this place is by checking out the long queue. The Ang Ku Kueh's skin is chewy and fresh. Not bad at all! But I feel that it is kind of small for the price paid. They do have some special flavour such as durian and matcha. Do go and try it out.

The glutinous rice... No. Too dry.
The yam kueh. Ok. But I won't miss it.
