The only sushi thing about this popiah is just the seaweed, there's no rice or fish whatsoever; in fact, it's all vegetables but I must say that it's still a pretty good dish. The vegetables are crunchy, the coleslaw is refreshing, and the crispy bits are fragrant. Paired with mild sweetness from the terriyaki sauce, this makes a good starter for two or a very light meal for one.
While waiting for my bowl of Sungei Rd laksa, I decided to get this popiah next to it. It was really disappointing cause the popiah skin was thick & tough. Texture wasn’t smooth so I ended up eating the fillings instead. Where do you go for good popiah? Let me know? .

Quite a big portion for popiah. Subtle salted yolk taste.
$3.50
I prefer this as this has more crunchy vegetables. A interesting twist to the normal popiah.
Sushi popiah? Korean kimchi beef popiah? Ice cream popiah? Popiah burrito? Yes, all of that right at Mr. Popiah where popiah-inspired dishes are churned out. Personally tried their popiah burrito and popiah pizza at $5 each - interesting and decent but not filling for a meal.
For their traditional nonya popiah,
Good:
• Handmade, chewy skin
• Good crunch from the peanuts and crispy bits
Drawbacks:
• Turnips were bland
• Fillings were quite little
• Loosely wrapped
• At $2.20/roll, this is pricey for this quality
Verdict: 2/5
