Triple Cookie: Caramelised cookie (speculoos) base with a tinge of sweetness that was pleasant, luscious and not too cloying. It is half coated with bittersweet chocolate and garnished with cookie crunch bits.

Brown Sugar Sago: This is for those with a sweet tooth and hardcore fans of brown sugar, as the sweetness can get a tad overwhelming after some time. Sago instead of boba pearls are used here, which lacks a chewy mouthfeel characteristic to that of the latter element.

Blueberry Pie: Blueberry base coated with white chocolate and garnished with cookie crumble bits. A characteristic tangy, sourness from the blueberry is well complemented with a pleasant tinge of sweetness from the white chocolate coating. Great to indulge on a hot day!

The Banana Split flavour is filled with lusciousness of smooth banana ice cream base coupled with chocolatey fudge swirls that will delight those with a sweet tooth! The frozen strawberry bits also added some tangy and acidic notes as well!

The Peanut Chocolate Cookie flavour is creamy and nutty, perfect for fans of peanut butter. The addition of chocolate cookie added a chunky mouthfeel to the smooth, creamy and nutty delight!

The Yogurt Raspberry Puff flavour is a tangy and refreshing yogurt ice cream with a pleasant crunch factor from the puffed cereal. The raspberry swirls added a tangy and fruity sweetness that complemented the yogurt base really well!

1-for-1 with #burpplebeyond!

Located at the rooftop of JEM shopping mall, Poppy Pops specializes in homemade gelato popsicles.

Selection of gelato wasn’t extensive, but there were a few interesting ones, like the Pandan cake with real Pandan cake bits. Initially thought it might taste artificial, but surprisingly it resembled the Pandan cake quite well, with a lightly sweet, floral green flavor. Makes a good pairing with the heavier tiramisu flavor, which was intense on the coffee note and a little too sweet for our liking.

We had salted hojicha and s’mores for the other set. While it was quite a good contrast between the sweet caramelic s’mores flavor, the salted hojicha was quite a peculiar one. Perhaps because I have never tasted such a salty roasted green tea, the saltiness came as a shock and probably didn’t blend well with the bitterness of hojicha. Waffles were rather disappointing, not crispy and nobody would expect a soggy waffle.

The staff recommended us their poppy lemonade, which was a blend of blackberry and apple. Refreshing but what you really get was the sour lemonade than the fruitiness from the blend. Also had the iced hojicha latte, which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Extra load of creaminess.

Thanks to #burpplebeyond, we had 2 sets of double scoop gelato waffle with drink for the price of 1! However, it was still rather pricey for the standard of desserts served here.
