It’s sweet and salty. I wasn’t a big fan but my wife loved it!

We had the barramundi and pork mains and both are recommended. The barramundi was delicious and fresh. The pork was more special and heavier in flavour. The service here was really great as well!

Came here for the 1-1 3 course set meals and loved it!For appetisers, we had the lamb and octopus and they were awesome. The octopus was tender and the lamb (pictured above) was flavourful.

The meat was absolutely flavourful, and was cooked to a beautiful tenderness that still retained some bite; the texture was also enhanced by a good amount of fat. The glaze added another dimension with its vibrant sweetness which cut through the heaviness, but also simultaneously complemented the slightly sweet porcine flavours.

But perhaps what I loved more was the mash potato was creamy beyond comparison, and elevated the dish as a whole.

Porta ranks amongst my favourite restaurants - it serves up delicious food of superb quality and with interesting twists. Was very happy to snag a $15 Chope deal for a 3-course meal! It comprises an appetiser (soup of the day or capresse salad), a main (seafood pasta or confit chicken leg), dessert (carrot cake) and a soft drink. I’m usually a huuuge pasta fan but this dish really impressed me!! The meat was incredibly tender and fell off the bone easily, flavourful and not too fatty. The vegetables were well roasted but what really amazed me was the taro purée - it’s my first time seeing yam paired with meat, and it lent a delightful sweetness to balance the savoury meal.
