If you thought that Indian food is only about Northern Indian Style, Tandoori Chicken ,Butter Chicken, roti, naans etc or South Indian Dosas, Idli’s etc or cooking different styles of biryani then you are yet to explore the various food treasures hidden in Little India,
One such place is Premaas, hidden is the little lanes along Serangoon Road on Dalhousie lane.
This place serves up authentic Kerala cuisine, which is so different from the Indian food available across Singapore. For Lunch they have a large variety of set meals to choose from( Veg and non veg)
I had a Mutton set meal @$12 ( I paid 50 cents, extra for par boiled Kerala rice , instead of white rice) it is served in a banana leaf, with an assortment and free flow of vegetables and curries like sambar, dal and a dessert .
The flavors are milder and yet tasty. A must try are their meen pollichatthu ( pomfret cooked with spices in a banana leaf), and Appams( a fluffy pancake which goes well with any food) though there is a whole list of good dishes waiting for you all to try out including duck preparations.
They offer whole other variety of food for everyone’s tastebuds . The list is endless.
The ambience doesn’t bother me much, as I visit this place very often , only for their most delicious food however at peak hours the wait can be long and seating a bit cramped up, do be prepared.
