I can’t name all my kuehs, but the Penang buffet at Copthorne King’s Princess Terrace Cafe has one of the largest kueh selections I have ever come across in a buffet and they are all so good! My favourites include Kueh Beng Kah, Kueh Dar Dar, Kueh Seri Muka and this amazing pancake looking kueh that is served with caramelised banana sauce😍 Apart from kuehs, there is a live Ban Chang Kueh station where a super crispy peanut pancake is made on the spot and a Tau Huey station where you get to add regular syrup or gula melaka over the super soft soya beancurd❤️ Really spoilt for choice for deserts - and I don’t even have a sweet tooth to begin with (though the desserts are not too sweet I must say☝🏻)!

Back to the main course, there are Penang classics such as Penang Fried Kway Teow, Assam Laksa, Pork Curry, Satay and Duck with Salted Vegetable Soup. But what I really like is the Pork Trotters in Black Vinegar - it has just the right balance of sweet and sour and it is very addictive! This is also the first time I saw an automatic egg cooker - quite impressive😱 To be honest, I don’t have enough stomach space to try everything every time I am here because there is just too much food to try and limited capacity😛

If you are wondering about the price, I made my reservation via Eatigo and managed to get a 50% discount ($26.90++ for buffet lunch on weekends) woohoo🎉 If you are looking for a good buffet that serves homely comfort food without burning a hole in your pocket, this is a good place to try:)!

Great quality of food. Ingredients used were fresh. Each dish was tasty and were promptly refilled when stocks were running low. Live cooking stations include penang laksa, prawn mee, kueh pie ti and herbal duck soup. All of which were very yummy. Had a wide spread of nonya dessert as well and a live station for ban chang kueh. Beancurd was nice and had a nice strong bean taste to it. Seems like it is handmade beancurd. Goes well with gula melaka.
Each person will cost around $60 after gst & service charge.

Princess terrace cafe really has lots of buffet highlights .

One of them is surely this prawn noodles soup.
My partner hails this as the best bowl of prawn soup he has had and I agree too .

I have asked my bowl sans prawns .
Served with 2 mini quail eggs and some greens , this bowl of prawn noodles soup was full of umami goodness and a pronounced prawn flavour .

It was really really satisfying - even for a non prawn mee person like me :)

These peanut pancakes are probably the best in Singapore.

The peanuts are fresh and crunch and best of all minimal sugar is used so that the natural sweetness of the peanuts shine through.

I would come for this buffet just for this alone .

I must say that I was really impressed with the Penang char kway teow at the Peranakan dinner buffet.

The fried kway teow was aromatic , full of wok hei , had a good moisture and was not oily . Now how did the Chef do that ?

I like the version of Penang char kway teow here the best - it’s wins the one at York hotel’s inaugural Penang buffet hands down. And although these are not fried per portion - they were still sufficiently fresh and the best part is you didn’t have to wait in line with a Long queue while your tummy is growling ( after the queueing exercise at practically every station at York hotel’s Penang buffet last year - I wouldn’t dare try going back again anytime soon )

The other item that was done really nicely were the Mian jian Guo. They were so aromatic with an eggy whiff and very glad they were the crispy kind instead of the doughy kind because there was limited space in my stomach after such a grand feast 😊😍

I had a craving for these traditional Peranakan pancakes and the aromatic banana coconut sauce for the past few weeks and where better to hunt for them then at one of the best Peranakan buffets ?

These pancakes are not a common find and even if you find them outside , they may not be well made.

So this evening , I had to visit the Peranakan buffet dinner just for these.

The pancakes were soft and had a unique rice flour flavour which I absolutely love - they used to be a little bit fluffier and more stretchy but I am still quite happy how they are now ....at least I get to feast them in unlimited portions .

Dunk them in that aromatic banana coconut gravy and trust me - once you start , you can’t stop ...
