Looking for some CNY snacks to gift or having it at home? There’s plenty of options out there and I found this place when I was searching around my workplace at Chinatown.
They originally located at The Interlace, before moving over to Chinatown area. This CNY festive season they also offered a few CNY special on the menu.
One item that attracted me was this yam walnut squares. Since we all should have eaten enough pineapple tarts for every CNY, why not getting something different?
And it also packed in a box, instead of the usual CNY bottle. Which I find it more environmental friendly, since it is much easy to recycle.
12 pieces a box and the yam filling is enrobed with caramelised walnut, sprinkled with sea salt, all encased in a rich and sinful Salted Egg Yolk pastry.
I would say the first taste is really overwhelming with the salted egg york, pretty much covered the yam flavour.
Best salted egg puffs ever! So creamy and exploding, and doesn't taste official. Tip: Facebook message them before arriving so they'll heat up for you. Tell the condo guard you're collecting cake!

Getting these goodies from them can be tricky as the bakery cafe is located inside a private condo, so you need to get past guards who MAY not let u in (If not use Deliveroo haha... promo code "DFDROO for $10 OFF)
Each one of them came in bite size portions coated with an orange layer similar to that of Bo Lo Bao (Pineapple Buns). A small portion of liquid gold peeks out at the tip of the bun, signalling what is to come. Huat ah!
Finally get to try this Salted Egg Yolk cream puff from @pulsepatisserie . It's really good. Nomz! 😋
Sorry I made the choux puff look a bit unglam with that squirt, but hey, they taste not bad! A tad too sweet and slightly not buttery enough for me, but my family loved it! Get them now at just $12 for a box of 6!
