Putien 莆田 (Raffles City)

Always a good time at Pu Tien, with its consistently good dishes and modern decor. Particularly loved the Fujian red mushroom seafood lor mee and deep-fried duck with yam. Didn’t quite enjoy their rendition of oyster omelette as it was a bit too starchy for my liking.

A dish of which its craftsmanship has been listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Our specialty-Heng Hwa Bee Hoon-the only sundried vermicelli milled by hand in Putian, is brimming with glutinous fragrance.

A popular traditional Fujian dish - an appetising dish boasting a perfect balance of sour and sweetness from the real lychees used. Hands down one of the best sweet and sour pork I've tasted. Batter was thin and extremely crispy while retaining the juicienes of the pork.

The fish was quite succulent (no fishy taste!), and the soup light but flavourful. A very warm and comforting dish to have especially on a cold day!
