I finally tried this relatively cheap Michelin-starred brand. Here they used much thinner slices of eggplant ie more batter, so it depends what you like, but I didn't. A lot more floss than other places, but I don't expect less from Putien.

I finally tried this relatively cheap Michelin-starred brand. Fyi this is an individual portion divided from the full plate. Mediocre lah sian.

I finally tried this relatively cheap Michelin-starred brand. Fyi this is an individual portion divided from the full bowl. It's nice, but no different from cheaper Henghua lor mee.

I finally tried this relatively cheap Michelin-starred brand. This may be the best egg spinach I've eaten (not trio egg spinach as I couldn't detect a third egg). The flavour was powerful, served with what's more a sauce than the usual soup.

I finally tried this relatively cheap Michelin-starred brand. This Henghua dish, no different from the local version, was excellent. I'm not a fan of sweet & sour pork, but here each morsel was tender, fatty and avoided the often imbalance of sweet and sour.

I finally tried this relatively cheap Michelin-starred brand. This signature dish is something like a cross between oyster omelette and oyster pancake. It started off very shiok with generous briny oysters, but got jelak mainly due to the oil.
