An open secret by now, this off-menu item is definitely worth the try. A simple-looking dish of noodles, egg, prawns, and leafy greens comes together in the right mix of bite and flavour. $20, serves 3-4.

"Secret menu" item, which I read/heard about from foodblogs and Food King. The prawns were fresh and huge, omelette was nicely cooked (still slightly runny on the surface), noodles were well fried (tho abit more char/wokhei would have been welcomed), and the pork lard gave it the much needed oomph. 😋

Warning to those who can't stand oily food though, this is definitely a fried noodle dish that was fried in a good amount of oil. So beware! I was personally not expecting it to be that oily, but it wasn't a turn off for me 😅

Rating: 4 / 5

Note: This item is not found on their signboard! We showed ieatishootipost's Instagram post to the stall aunty to tell her what we wanted 😅 She'll ask if you want your noodles crispy or not. The version we've got is the non-crispy version.

Portion for 2 pax: $22

The omelette is certainly like a thick, comforting blanket over the noodles! The centres are moist (not like the usual fu rong egg that's fluffy from the deep-frying) and generously topped with lotsa huge prawns. The prawns are scrumptious! Fat, crunchy and one word: 鲜! About 10 huge prawns found on my plate. The noodles are eemian, stir fried with lotsa lard and vege. The lard cubes are crunchy and add an added dimension of fragrance to every mouthful of noodles! Two of us girls couldn't finish the noodles. Probably cos we ordered another plate of 排骨王! I really love the omelette and I'll be back for it!

I will make do with this plate of Kailan with Sliced Fish. The sliced fish was rather pedestrian but the greens still retained a good crunch to it.

Egg noodles tossed in oyster sauce & sesame oil, covered with a layer of fluffy, silky egg omelette with super fresh prawns & topped with sinful, fragrant pork lard ☁️
.
Only 1 portion ($20) is available, but it is big enough for 3 to 4 pax. I wouldn't mind having it all by myself though 😋

This Wong Pou Sang Meen (Yellow Cloth Crispy Noodles) is a fine example of how simple dishes can be so tasty. Basically, it’s crispy noodle fried with lard and oyster sauce topped with a silky, fluffy omelette and generous servings of chye sim and prawns (although I didn’t eat the prawns). An off the menu item that comes in only one size ($20) but it’s an open secret that this dish is one of its signature dishes at this stall.
