Having tried Hitoyoshi Yoshi Sushi (which I personally feel is a hidden gem), I decided to make a trip to @ramenhitoyoshi to try out their ramen!

The items that I’ve tried are:
Garlic Tonkotsu with All Toppings
Original Tonkotsu with All Toppings
Kinoko Butter Yaki

@ramenhitoyoshi simmers their tonkotsu broth for at least 8-10 hours and chilled overnight before serving. As such, their signature tonkotsu broth is thick, creamy, rich and flavorful with just the normal level chosen. Strong level would have been too jelak for me. The bold and savoury pork broth is accompanied with crunchy black fungus, tender chashu and a soft ajitama egg.

The only difference between the garlic and the original tonkotsu is the addition of a drizzle of black garlic oil. I personally think that the garlic flavor was pretty mild and could be stronger.

What surprises me was the chashu/meat pieces! They were really tender! The pork belly chashu here is thick with a good ratio of meat and fat, making it so decadently good! I would say this ramen is deeply meaty, fatty and flavorful.

On a side note, you can enjoy free flow bean sprouts and corns while waiting for your mains to be served!

Neither wagyu nor sukiyaki

At least it didn't taste like what it's sold as. The beef wasn't the most tender, and the abundance of onion turned it into a zichar dish lol. Luckily shichimi was there to save the day. Not bad by any means but maddeningly mediocre

Esp the corn and the beansprouts wooohooo

Take note the chili oil bottle need to squeeze, and it's actually hot. Similarly, the shichimi(chili powder) also carries some heat actually. Seems like they tuned it to local tastebuds, since it's all by locals

Perhaps the π™Šπ™§π™žπ™œπ™žπ™£π™–π™‘ 𝙏𝙀𝙣𝙠𝙀𝙩𝙨π™ͺ π™¬π™žπ™©π™ 𝙖𝙑𝙑 𝙩𝙀π™₯π™₯π™žπ™£π™œπ™¨(~$14.90) was affordable given the generosity of ingredients, but this just wasn’t up my alley.
.
The aburi pork belly wasn’t as fatty as I expected, and the broth was too heavy and creamy for my liking. Put together with heavier ingredients, it got quite tiring to stomach and even taste halfway through the meal. I found myself adding a lot of the free flow corn to β€˜break’ the heaviness of the ramen🌽 .
The Chashu was a surprise: huge and really lean, which I liked 🍜 .For the price and the ingredients, I can’t complain much, but I can’t say the same for the service: disappointing and unaccomodating.

Ig @goodfomood

This was a steal at only $4.90. I wasn’t expecting much bcos of the price, but it was really good. Hot and crispy. Well marinated too. Boneless thigh meat.
