Brisket was not bad and pretty flavourful, but the lean parts was bordering on tough. Pulled pork was not juicy, kinda dry if not for the sauce on it; pork ribs / chicken wings / brioche bun /sauces were decent but nothing special. Cornbread was a bit coarse and dry at some parts, a bit more moist at others. The honey butter was nice! Coleslaw was refreshing. The poutine was very nice though, sweet potato fries were crisp and naturally sweet, the beef on it was juicy and yummy! Sauce on the poutine was flavourful too.

Overall, sorry to say that the stuff worth ordering are probably the brisket, and the poutine. Wouldn’t return, there are better western BBQ establishments around.

We went there on a Sunday evening and the place has starting to fill up from 6:30pm. As it was our first time dining there, we decided to get a few cuts of different meats and sides to try. Whilst the buffalo wings, burnt end beans and corn bread with honey butter was excellent, the smoked meats were slightly underwhelming. The half chicken was very dry on the inside, the signature USDA beef brisket was not juicy even though there’s a layer of fats at the top and the Carolina pulled pork didn’t have that punchy BBQ flavour that we were expecting. Probably we didn’t have much smoked meats in the past hence this might not be a fair judgement but still a cool place to be at and we will want to try the other smoked meats for our next return. Last but not least, there might still be some teething issues in the operations to be ironed out as our orders came wrong initially which I hope will only improve in future.

If you’re healthy and have not been to any high risk areas, gather a few friends (no more than 10 please!) and head to Red Eye Smokehouse at Jalan Baser for some amazing meats.
We had the juicy USDA Angus Beef Brisket, and the short ribs, and Duroc Pork Ribs.
Then there were sides of Mashed Potatoes with stout gravy & bone marrow butter, Corn bread with honey butter, an excellent coleslaw and Burnt end beans.
If that’s too intimidating, order the platter where you’ll get the best of everything.

The ALL-IN Tray (serves 6-7 pax)

Angus beef brisket plate, Duroc pork rib, Angus beef short rib, Carolina pulled pork, Duroc pork belly, Smoked chicken, sausage, choice of 4 sides: mashed potatoes with stout gravy & bone marrow butter; sweet potatoes fries; corn bread with honey butter; watermelon salad.

Finally made our way here on a Sunday afternoon without any reservations. Their ribs and some other stuffs were sold out by 130pm. Perhaps you have to be there at noon in order to secure the limited items. Nevertheless we still managed to get some succulent beef brisket, pulled pork and buffalo wings (not spicy at all) with some sides. Love the corn bread, mashed potatoes and coleslaw! I like how they serve the sugar syrup and iced tea separately cuz I personally prefer without sugar. This place is worth a visit if you love American bbq. Price is reasonable. Plenty of parking lots for cars and bikes. Will definitely visit again.
