The cake was slightly burnt on top which added a nice smoky flavour. The surprise was a soft creamy inside. Really nice cake and coffee. #throwback #burpple

Recommended place for a good piece of cake. If you are into thick flavor, the chocolate cake is one not to miss out, but it is really so thick in flavor I can't finish one on my own. The highlight here is the watermelon cake, it is a great invention by the chef! I absolutely truly love it! The waiter recommended this to us, claiming it is super good and only available on weekend, we take her word and decided to buy one. It is layered with strawberry pieces, strawberry jam, almond sponge, rose cream (which I think is a light custard), a thick layer of watermelon, rose cream again and almond sponge again from top to bottom. All the layers blended together so well it complement each other to give a refreshing yet wonderful taste journey. It is a 5 star cake. A must have here. I would also like to complement the waiter for being very thoughtful and caring. As I am coughing, so cold drink is not my choice. I asked for warm water but the shop only sells room temperature bottled water. We took one of the bottled water, it is better than nothing. The waiter notice that I really need warm thing, she brought the bottled water together with a glass of hot water so that we can mix on our own. So thoughtful, so nice. Price: RM29 for 2 piece of cake and 1 bottled water, Food: 9/10

The Red Velvet is one of their signature cakes. And I was NOT dissapointed at all. The cream perfectly complements the cake. The cake was not hard or dry. It was just sweet enough leaving a hint of colour on your tongue, teeth and lips.

Very nice environment to just sit and relax. Very friendly people. Good place to catch up with friends or get some work done.

When I first arrived at this place, the front door area didn't really interest me to spend my time in this cafe. I looked up for some review and was convinced to go inside. The people were friendly and the place was very cozy with cute decorations and furniture! You can choose between sitting on tables which were designed like classic granny's old sewing machine or just lay low on the comfy bean bags. I love that they put an old bicycle as a decoration (and this is one of the strongest reason I picked this place!). Also a special mention for the Kolumpo movie poster hanged on the kitchen wall.

Rekindle is filled with so many choices of beautiful and tempting cakes, from brownies to alcohol cakes! Price varies from RM12-16. Unfortunately, I came there to do work so I forbid myself to buy any cake or I would just end up just eating cake only. I will definitely buy a slice or two on my next visit!

One menu that made me curious was butterscotch coffee. The price was quite normal for a flavored coffee (RM12). For coffee, it tasted very sweet. I usually don't like sweet coffee but I found this coffee pleasantly sweet which means I don't hate it but don't love it as well. Most probably will come here again to sample the gorgeous cakes!

All types of cake are yummilicious and worth for the price.

Alright so I'm late to the Rekindle scene. This place has been around for as long as I can remember and it now even has a branch in Uptown. And here I am, here after all the hype has died down.

Rekindle is a cafe located in SS 2, a landmark would be the huge Mc Donalds diagonally opposite it. The interior is a mix of brick walls, wooden tables, yellow lights, and oldies playing in the background. Tables accomodate 2-4 and there probably isn't much space for gatherings above 15 people.

A Choclate Baileys cake (RM 16.00 - pre service charge) and Ice Blended Chocolate (RM 12.00 - pre service charge) made its way to my table today. The top sponge cake is infused with Irish Baileys while the bottom half is soft spongey chocolate cake. Topped with crunchy caramelized nuts and not too sweet but rich and smooth chocolate cream.

The taste of the Baileys isn't strong when you eat everything together but it's a light subtle taste in the background that gives it that alcohol kiss of a flavour. The chocolate cream is light, smooth and isn't too sweet while the topped caramelized nuts give it a good texture.

The Ice Blended Chocolate was probably not the best thing to acompany the cake. I would recommnd perhaps a hot chocolate, mocha, or some sort of coffee drink or tea as it balances out the sweetness of the cake and washes it down nicely. A cold drink just fades away in the background and makes the drink unmemorable.

Price-wise it's a little steep. RM 16.00 for the cake and comes with service charge. Not sure if you're willing to pay that price for a slice of cake. Probably a good once-a-week treat. But not something I'll willingly indulge in frequently. Sure the it's good. But for that price, it's better for me to treat it like a vacation to the Bahamas.

So if you can't hold your booze, why not try a Chocolaye Baileys? It lets you live on the edge without making you pass out and bend over a toilet bowl.

Provided of course, you're not THAT sensitive to alcohol.
