I didn't have expectations and the way this eatery focused on the simple things impressed me. Beef balls were so Q and had a pleasant beef flavour. Although I love beefiness, this was a different kind of good. Simply paired with simple noodles topped with simple meat sauce. Noodles themselves were mediocre while soup wasn't beef flavoured.

After a hectic day of exploring the city, appease your growling tummy with a hearty bowl of noodles. For quick service and city's favourite beef noodles, look to stalwart Soong Kee along Jalan Tun H S Lee that has been running since 1947. Have their prized Beef Ball Noodles (RM7), where springy egg noodles are topped with savoury minced meat gravy and served with bouncy beef balls in a flavourful broth. Also good is the Tripe Noodle (RM7) that features melt-in-your-mouth beef slices and tender beef innards. If you simply cannot get enough of their delicious beef balls, order an extra portion (from RM8). Pro tip: Dip the meat in their house-blend chilli sauce for a spicy kick.

This reminds me of the beef noodles I had in HK. Perhaps it’s the springy egg noodles? Or the bouncy beef balls? But I understand why this is such a hotspot in KL. Quick service (food arrived after 3 minutes!), super delicious noodles, friendly servers, and air conditioned space! Cheers to that!
They fine tuned everything close to perfection. Even the soup that comes with the beef balls was chock full of flavour! Especially enjoyed the minced meat gravy.
Do take note that they close on Sundays, so plan ahead (unlike me). Was fooled once but never again!

How does happiness manifest to you? Well happiness manifest itself in the form of a bowl of hot yet warming bowl of minced beef noodles with a side of sliced beef soup! The best place to have such a humble bowl of noodle is located in KL town called Soong Kee and it is quite noticeable and a household name for all KL-ites as this is the place to be to enjoy that bouncy noodle of minced beef and the perfectly cooked beef strips but you can opt for the beef ball instead if you aren’t a fan of the strips..

but not many places that can make it really smooth though. I’ve tried one today @ Soong Kee, and it’s done pretty well. Fragrant rice was slightly more salty. .
.
Siew yoke was not really impressive, but I’m glad that the skin is crispy enough. .

P/s: why having chicken rice at the infamous beef ball noodle shop? .
.
1) I don’t eat beef
2) there are more people having chicken rice than the noodles (I’m not kidding!)

That dark, umami-bomb of a mince that coats those noodles...irresistible. Even though the beef slices in the soup are epically tenderized, I will always wish this was available in SG.
