Fried wan tan
Wan tan mee with siew yok
Wan tan mee with char siew
RM21.50

Their Wanton Mee is really delicious. A great breakfast to have. Next time I visit again, I hope to have this for breakfast.

For those that like the smoky charred taste. The standard char siew is lean and tender with a strong smoky char. You can also request for 半肥瘦 char siew which has a rather sweet glaze and some char. Noodles are springy and slim, generously coated with pork lard oil 😋 P/S Forgot to include the 3 wantons (below average) in the photo.

From operating a small hawker stall in Meng Shiang kopitiam, Yulek Wan Tan Mee has beaten the odds to now occupy an entire shoplot serving their claim to fame — Wanton Noodles (RM6) with irresistible char siew. The business is family-run, a young son (perhaps grandson) tosses noodles with dexterity while Ah Ma wields the cleaver to slice thick cuts of barbecued pork. Constantly bustling with diners, this is a spot to dine solo without ever feeling alone. Expect springy noodles covered evenly in the aromatic dark sauce and topped off with an absurdly generous heap of char siew. The meat's brilliantly roasted for a charred finish and it's on the leaner side, so don't feel too bad about wiping this plate clean.

As far as portion size is concerned (for RM6!), Yulek Wanton Mee is really generous. Look at the toppings! The char siu here has an aromatic roasty taste that many restaurants tend to compensate with overly sweet, grisly, artificial colouring. Throw in some sui gao and you’ll find yourself a satisfying meal.
