This was rather tasty! Noodles are soft and plain, a good base for the ingredients. The zaier is crisp, and so is the taukee. The mock charsiew is surprisingly nice, it has a sweet marinade and didnā€™t taste like the typical mock meats. Tofu and cabbage were tasty too!

I quite like this Ru Yi franchise. The food at all 3 outlets Iā€™ve tried - tiong bahru, margaret drive and this were satisfying. But I find that this BB outlet is a bit stingy with the ingredients. The auntie carefully plates each portion, so maybe thatā€™s why it feels so? But anyway, if you want more ingredients then probably get the bigger portion.

The white beehoon not too soft, got bites and not lump, served with light savoury gravy, and I randomly choose the ingredients ( I like the fried goose duck).
šŸ’°$3.5 for standard serving, can top up for extra ingredients.

10/10! Love their mock meat especially, great flavour and texture. šŸ¤©

In every morning when you walked past this food court, you will find this particular vegetarian stall always has a super long queue.

They are very popular among the neighbourhood for their vegetarian beehoon.

It comes with everything including the vegetables and fried items. You could also add the popiah like me. They usually will pour in the soup but you can request for it to be dry version instead.

Did not know a friendā€™s dadā€™s stall has a ā€˜cultā€™ following like that. This over 20-year stall probably needs no introduction for those staying in the vicinity judging by the 20-mins long queue we saw on at 10am on Saturday. The ā€˜defaultā€™ signature set of vegetarian White Been Hoon drenched in a light, silky gravy for $3.50 comes with a generous portion of sides:
- Signature fried ā€œduckā€, is a crispy, original creation that reveals layers of moist soy bean skin (swipe right for a full side plate of it we got in the middle)
- ā€˜Char Siewā€™ that is glazed in a savoury dark sauce
- Braised Beancurd
- Stir fried cabbage

It makes for a satisfying, filling vegetarian meal indeed and a tasty, differentiated rendition of the veg bee hoon dish...

Didnā€™t know there was this branch in the West, especially after the Holland Drive one closed. Sadly, the service here borders on unfriendly, and the ladies have no patience nor tolerance for questions. Anyway, the food is packed very quickly so interactions with them are minimal.

Fortunately the vegetarian bee hoon and ingredients here are still as good as the other outlets. However, note that kway tiao is not available on special occasions (e.g. Vesak day weekend), but the bee hoon here is great so itā€™s not much of a loss. Curry is available at additional charge ($0.50), and we were pleasantly surprised by how strongly spiced it was. This more than made up for the lack of sambal chilli in the packet.

Glad to know that thereā€™s still this awesome vegetarian stall in the West, and will visit again soon!
