PSA this dish takes a while cos they need to heat it up

Very thin sambal, but quite spicy.

The quail eggs were perfectly cooked, and that's more than enough reason to get them.

On the other hand, their fish curry is absolutely bomb. Super thick, full of umami, and a sharp acidity that's not unpleasant at all

It's solid, as you can see from the char. Well marinated too, and reasonably tender

It's pretty good, and the reason it's pretty good is cos it's not rlly pepper at all. It's a completely different kind of gravy, rather unique flavour, that happens to have pepper in it. Mutton was tender and well penetrated with flavour, and there's quite some heat from the chili. I had to keep asking for water(they don't give you a tumbler, they would rather give you a super tiny cup and keep coming to refill. Makes absolutely no sense to me)

The potatoes were so interesting cos there's a sticky texture. Only after a few bites in I realise half of the cubes were mock meat, hence the sticky texture haha

Didn't rlly like the raita cos it's quite lacking in body

Sambal ckn was alright, slightly dry but the sauce covers it. It's closer to ayam merah with a reduced sweetness than your normal sambal

Who else is a fan of the Banana Leaf experience? Finally went for the homestyle dishes @samayalby6ixers aptly on yesterday’s Deepavali Sunday. Ordering this felt like we were in a foreign country, but with loads of fun. The young lady’s English wasn’t good, but she and us tried our darndest best to communicate and we finally got our orders all well. :D

The signatures here:
- Chicken 65, a spiced fries chicken dish that’s full of red chilli and spices flavour, though not spicy at all
- Gobi 65, a deep fried cauliflower dish that was our favourite. Doesn’t feel like you are eating cauliflower and more like crunchy fritters that are still moist within
- Squid Masala - this was awesome. The gravy packs a spicy punch and full of the thick aroma of masala.

Plus the good service continues throughout the meal. The same young lady came by thrice - once to offer the curries as you see here, 2nd time to ask...
