At $19.90++, it is a joy. My fiancé and I have been patronising this place solely for this dish alone! The beef is served cold, and not warm or hot. It goes very well with the wasabi and I normally would request a dollop of Japanese mayo to go along with this bowl of deliciousness.

tasty roasted beef piled on a rice bowl. Generous amount of meat for the price ($24.9) but i was served cold instead of warm...

I first stumbled upon Sandaime Bunji (@sandaime_bunji) in June 2016. I was so impressed with the generous amount and good quality beef of that Wagyu Round Roast Beef Set ($19.90), I was back for another round with another group of foodie friends just a couple of months later.

Fast forward to 2019, I'm back for that beef mountain rice bowl. It was great to know that the price remained constant at $19.90 despite its increased popularity over the years. But I'm sad to say that the new rendition of rather rare/raw roast beef with overly gooey sauce has failed to deliver the tasty roast beef I had three years ago.

At $19.90, the beef is pretty good, especially with the given portion. The portion could possibly even feed two, but no one's complaining.

Add on rice for +2++ if I'm not wrong

141 deal on jpassport until TMR, only available from 5pm to 830pm

While it came without rice, and the portion looks small at first, it's no doubt 250g of meat and it's rather filling. With wagyu in its name, it's important to regulate expectations as this certainly was a decent roast beef, and a generous portion at that, but ultimately it was nothing too crazy. Since it's wagyu it was quite soft, without the usual chewiness that some roast beef have. The sweet and savoury sauce also complimented the beef well, but I particularly liked the wasabi at that side which wasn't too strong and made it easy to finish the whole plate. The fact that it's not hot may turn people off but I personally had never had a piping roast beef so I guess it's standard, or at least common that it's served at room temperature

Not exactly a must-try, but definitely a solid option for lunch or a steal with the 141

First of all, do note this is cold. After that, it's certainly good beef with some pink, though not the best. This serving is for two but was definitely too much, unless you're a big eater.
