The brekkie burger is fantastic!! The sesame bun was sweet and fluffy, and the scrambled eggs + meat combination was sooo indulgent and completely satisfying for a weekend brunch. However, it comes on its own, with no side salad or fries so it is a rather pricey burger, even more so if you pimp it up with their hollandaise hash browns (+$4) as we did.

This café was PACKED on a Saturday late morning, and they do not take reservations so do expect to wait a while if you're not lucky enough to catch a seat. Anyway, service is very fast and our food arrived within 5 min or ordering even though the cashier informed me there may be a waiting time of 15-20min.

On to the food, the truffled scrambled eggs were unfortunately overcooked and not as runny as I would have liked it. The truffle scent was too strong for my liking as well. The mushrooms and sautéed spinach was forgettable and the rye sourdough was too dense and was weighed down by everything else on the plate. I really wanted to like this but sadly it didn't impress.

On the eve of National Day, i get to enjoy the scenic view of Gardens by the Bay form the Kallang PCN we woke up at 6am to “explore”. Then had breakfast at one of the better brunch places in Singapore - enter Sarnies, before walking to Chinatown and have my Singaporean Kopi after a milky, cafe masala chai latte. This was not before stopping by this non descript chiffon and roll cake stall which had Dr Leslie Tay’s article displayed- at $1.80 per slice of chiffon I found this one of the softest chiffons I’ve had and was very pleased.

At Chinatown complex food centre I had only space for desserts so the chendol that Our Grandfather Story featured we had to try. It was a good bowl of chendol at $2 considering how the slightly savoury pandan tadpole jellies are handmade.

But my win for the day was Xin Xuan’s Min Chiang Kueh, I love pancakes so corollary, I love Chinese pancakes. The ones here are soft and delicious that it made me feel like they were everything I could have ever wanted.

#HappyNationalDay I do love the country I live in✨

Super crowded on a weekend!! (Take note that they don’t serve lunch menu on weekends!!) enjoyed the eggs ben but sadly nothing much about it to rave about :”( got the matcha latte and it was pretty disappointing too (slightly diluted)!

The Miso Salmon Carbonara was super creamy and yummy, without being too surfeiting, topped with ikura!! There’s big pieces of salmon in the pasta as well. Would recommend 💯
The Ribeye was decent, not the best, but really worth it for the price! 🥩

We had the pulled pork ragu and ribeye steak.

The ribeye was well cooked to medium rare, and the dish does not come with any sides. The truffle jus was not heavy and complimented the steak well.

Pulled pork ragu was filled with meat so definitely value for money!! The pasta was well cooked to al dente.

We shared the brownie dessert which was served with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream. The brownie had a more cake like texture and was not the fudgey typed. Nonetheless, the ice cream complemented the brownie well.

Overall, this restaurant was really value for money. Even with drinks, our bill came out to about $50 for 2 pax.
