Unlikd your local hawker centre veg stall, Saute-san is a Western- Asian (Korean/Jap based on the menu!) fusion plant-based restaurant. Very generous portions for the dishes we ordered :)

Gotta admit the colours in my photo is not the best, but the flavours for both dishes was definitely there. The lion mane mala stir-fry packed a punch! It came with lots of pea sprouts (dou miao), some other veg, and a variety of mushrooms. Note: the picture shows half the portion - it came like a little mountain!

Ordered the lion mane black pepper cellophane noodles. It's actually the same noodles as in jap chae. Pretty good and wasn't too peppery.

Also has the salted egg yolk sauce nuggets as starters, not pictured. Salted egg sauce was just right. Nuggets were not oily, had a nice 'meaty' texture to it.

The restaurant was fairly packed when we rocked up about 7ish pm on a Friday. No service charge was a lovely touch!

This was one of those dishes that was spotted on many diner’s table! They have orh luak of different flavours - Mala ($17.90), Kimchi ($15.90), Okonomiyaki style ($17.90) and all are available to be done vegan as well. The fried egg omelette has straw mushrooms, seaweed and a side chilli sauce. For the price, I was definitely expecting a lot more mushrooms. Other than that, it was seasoned nicely with crisp sides, and had a good ratio of starchy parts! It was quite oily though, and would recommend to finish it while hot.

Wasn’t a fan of how watery the pesto sauce was, thought it would be better if the sauce had a thicker consistency and a more concentrated pesto flavour. Toppings were pretty generous though, with shiitake mushroom, slices of king oyster mushrooms, cashew nuts, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

Was one of the recommended dishes, but unfortunately found it a bit bland with a powdery aftertaste. Not sure if it was supposed to be this saucy, but it was almost like a soupy type of pasta. Toppings were shiitake mushrooms and soy ham slices.

Cheesy shroom curry rice ($20.90+)
The mushroom was nicely breaded and fried. Unfortunately i would have preferred a bit more ingredients as the rice consisted just of the mushroom, cheese, curry gravy, 2 potatoes, and rice.

We may have ordered the wrong dish, cause definitely this dish can’t be the highlight. It has all the Korean ingredients but it doesn’t taste Korean. We give it points though for its big portions - this would be a good place to go if you are hyper hungry and have a 1-for-1 Burpple beyond deal to use. It costs $17.90 for this individual hot pot set.

We ordered an orh luak ($13.90) and rice ko katsu ($15.90) additionally. And those are much better with mimicking the textures of the dishes.

Ambience wise, this feels more like a food junction.
