For appetiser, I had Saveurโ€™s Pasta ($12) which features warm Capellini pasta tossed in truffle oil and kombu and topped with crunchy Sakura Ebi. The truffle aroma is prominent and the different flavours and textures complement one another - canโ€™t get enough of this!

The Filet Mignon Au Poivre ($42) looks lean when you cut into it but the pepper crusted beef fillet is surprisingly juicy, tender and flavourful, and it goes very well with the cognac-infused pepper sauce. Instead of the usual fries or mash potatoes, the steak is served with Potato Au Gratin which is crispy on the outside and buttery, creamy and cheesy on the inside. I have tried other mains at Saveur before (and they are great too), but this is by far my favourite!

Description: The meat of the duck is โ€œdry & not tenderโ€. Whatโ€™s on top is peanut crumble

I visited this place when their duck confit was still $13, and now it's $23. So at minimal I would expect a similar standard, if not better since they had a few years to improve. But they actually deproved to my disappointment. The duck confit used to be really tender and moist, with a truffle mashed potato. But now, the mashed potato has no truffle smell and the duck is on the drier side, though still pretty tender. Had the pork dish as well, but turned out to be really fatty as the fats were not well rendered. Also, they do not serve water. You got to buy a dasani bottled water. Maybe they're trying to copy the Europeans, but well, we're in Singapore. For the price I'm paying, I deserve water. To their credit they do serve a small bread basket as an appetiser for free. But I'd rather get water over bread basket honestly.

Maybe I came on a bad day, but I was pretty disappointed.

Had an enjoyable lunch recently at Saveur, where we indulged in delectable meat dishes like the Filet Mignon Au Poivre and the Roasted Pork Rack. The former in particular, really left a deep impression on me! The pepper crusted meat was so tender, and is served with pepper sauce doused with cognac, together with a side of cheesy Potato Au Gratin! Special mention to the Lobster Bisque too, it was creamy and flavourful in every sip!

Befitting as their signature dish! ๐ŸŒŸ Featuring a succulent duck leg ๐Ÿฆ† which was tender with a crisp exterior, laying elegantly atop a bed of creamy Mash Potato doused with Orange & Red Wine sauce ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿท, accompanied by some earthy mushrooms ๐Ÿ„, I truly enjoyed this dish! ๐Ÿ’•

One of the nicest rendition I have had thus far! ๐Ÿ’ฏ Stuffed generously with sweet caramelized onions ๐Ÿ’•, Gruyere Crostini which absorbs the essence of the broth well, & topped with savoury stretchy cheese ๐Ÿง€, the robust-tasting beef broth ๐Ÿ„ shines through it all!

If you think that the crostini will be mushy and soft, you are absolutely wrong as even though it acts as a sponge to soak up the broth, it still retains a certain crunchiness.

From the meats section, I am impressed by their Filet Mignon Au Poivre ($42) as you are getting the most tender piece of meat thatโ€™s pepper crusted and sits on top of a pool of pepper sauce thatโ€™s spiked with cognac. You will even get a side of potato au gratin to go alongside with it, a cheesy and feel-good dish that will surely cheer you up. If you are not into meat for the day, you can also order the beautifully plated Pan Seared Norwegian Salmon ($26) served with parsley potato and sauce vierge. The next time you are at Saveur, you now know what else to order besides the pasta and duck confit.
